Re: Please explain the ending....

WEll I'll be the first to admit that the game ending was pretty vague and bad. It seems that the developers/story plot writers got lazy or something? '

This is what I understand from the storyline and the ending.

:::::::::::::::SPOILERS:::::::::::::

OK  I WARNED YOU.

Save her

If you let her live Lucifer consumes her soul. It seems that Lucifer will destroy the world and Edward would be the only person left. (loneliness) End of humanity. Then "the key" just lets Edward walk away (wth?) Edward just walks away without even attempting to kill Lucifer (who is now Sarah).
----------------

Kill her

If you kill her then Lucifer will consume Edwards soul/body and force "the key" into the portal (hell). "They key" screams "man will stand against you" and Lucifer replays "did you think I'd come alone". At that point the game ends and credit runs. It could be a hint at a sequal, but no one knows. Perhaps there is another person or group of men that will try to kill Lucifer (who now is Edward Carnby)\
----------------

Both ending are lame and indicates there was no way to stop Lucifer's reincarnation. Which is wierd because Sarah actually grabbed the stone from Edward, which means that Edward should've never been consumed by Lucifer. that part confuses me a lot.

What got me was the fact that putting in the stone and all that brought Lucy around. That temple was closed until we let him in.....why??

Well that was pretty weird to me too and could also go along with "bad storyline/plot" writing. I kept rememebering that the dialogue kept hinting that Edward might have to call on the "Light bringer". I do not understand how Lucy was supposed to be called on anyways. There were a ton of text messages to read regarding the storyline and past effects, but I AM NOT going to read all of that stuff.

Spoilers

Even I wonder why they had to bring the light bringer to earth. It could be because a few crazy men wanted to save or fix humanit in their own twisted way.Even though those men died throughout the game, I still did not see the point to open the gate to let Lucy live on Earth.

Re: Please explain the ending....
Remember Edward is very unique and in someway powerful due to the talisman he carries.

Save Her

Lucifer takes over her but because she has no special powers he is trapped inside a mortal body essentially meaning he can exact no destruction on the earth but he can taunt Edward because the one he loved is no more and he is once again alone. He walks away from Lucifer knowing the world is safe but also down in the fact that he has lost Lucy.

Kill Her

Can't quite remember what was said by the Key but he says something about Murder and this is what happens to Lucy, but because of this Lucifer is now Edward and with all his power and talisman he can exact revene, death and destruction on the world and effectively end humanity.

Basically as Lucy he is powerless, as Edward humanity is almost powerless against him.

There's a thread on here which explains it much better than I did, probably on the next page or something.

I'm not reading any posts in this thread, but I did see this other "I'll explain the ending" thread (I just copied the link, I did not read that one either):

A big thank you to you sir!
I was also very confused as to why he simply walked away from possessed Lucy.

Nice ;D

"Don't say that!"
"What?"
"That, the 'Z' word"
"What Zombie?"
"Yes!"
"Why?"
"Because it's ridiculous.."
