I just got Sky Player, oh my oh my it's incredible!

As a user of the Sky Player on my Laptop the ability to do this through my HD TV without using up my computer absoloutely has flabberghasted me.

I have access to all the tons of movies available with the online version, it's so wildly awesome I can't speak. Dx

I'm watching Sky Movies screen 1 live now in HD ITS AWESOME XD

Re: Sky Player is here and WOW was it worth the wait!!!!
I had a look at Sky Player today. It does look interesting, but it seems to be wanting me to pay extra for programs that I'm already subscribed to on my normal Sky package. I'm already paying £25 per month and it's asking for even more money out of me. Surely should get the programs I'm already subscribed to at no extra cost and have to pay for the ones that I want extra?

Seems a bit of a rip-off to me.

Dunno m8, mine has been fine, Maybe try and delete it and re downloading it? Not too sure if that'll help but it might be worth a try.

The Subscription Plan and Channel Listing Breakdown

...

It's a good breakdown of costs and so on. However my problem with this is I've been a paying Sky customer for well over 10 years and I already pay them £25 for a subscription. If I wanted to get Sky Multiroom (by this I mean not through the Sky Player) I would have no problem in paying the extra £5 per month because I would have to have a seperate sky box, some alterations to my dish, extra wiring and I believe a seperate Sky viewing card and some bloke would have to come and fit it for me, but with the Sky player, the equipment is my own, nobody is required to come and fit it, I'm already paying for XBL, I pay £12 pm for my internet and whatever phone bills come in every quarter on top of that the Sky player is lower quality than my normal Sky TV, it has to buffer quite a bit if my connection is heavily loaded and it doesn't give me all of the channels I would get with a real multiroom package.

So in all the Sky breakdown for me is this:

My normal Sky subcription = £25 (£300 pa)
My normal Sky Subscription + Multiroom = £30 (£360 pa)
My normal Sky Subscription + Multiroom + Skyplayer (and also the cost of internet and XBL to run it) = £42.33 (£507.96 pa)

I don't mind paying extra for the programs I don't have, but having to pay for the Sky multiroom on top of my Sky subscription as well as XBL on top of my internet and phone charges just to watch channels I can already get is just wrong. Also the "On Demand" feature is a rip off as well... £1 to "rent" a tv program when I could quite easily record the progrm from my sky box onto a blank DVD with my DVD recorder and watch it on my PC for free, and keep it as long as I like.

An extra £1 a month on top of all my other charges (call it an internet  streaming charge or something) to be able to watch Sky on my Xbox360 would be fine. But paying the full £5 per month for a "Sky Multiroom" which doesn't offer the same as a proper Sky Multiroom subscription with an extra box and viewing car, is lower quality and gets less channels is just wrong and no way to treat loyal Sky and XBL customers.

Oops I meant £10 for normal sky multiroom so that's £35 per month (£420 pa) but still cheaper than I would have to pay for Sky Player if I include the extra expense of XBL and internet charges (which you can't use Sky Player without).

Its brilliant, but they need to sort the quality out man! i know its on xbox so i shudnt be complaining, but the sky player website, the high quality buffers like mad, and quality still isnt up to scratch. Maybe bring out HD in the future?? :) also, if you had windows 7 and sky multi-room, they are bringing sky player to windows media player soon!!!
