Content problems related to Family Settings?
When I first got my Xbox 360 a few years back I wasn't sure about the setup and went ahead with family settings. I'm 18, there is no need for them.

I believe me not being able to see videos with the RP rating or a lot of the content my friends are seeing on the dashboard has something to do with this. I can't even see Halo Waypoint and from what my friend says, he has already downloaded it. He might have been joking but since I can't see the content, I can't tell.

So my question is how to turn off family settings? I still have all the "parental account" info so is there something I'm missing? I figured there would be a place to simply shut the settings off.

I'm actually at work right now, but I think I may be able to help you.

Make sure you are on the master account and go to the dashboard row where the game that is in your tray is displayed (My Xbox).  You should see whatever game is in your tray in the first slot, your avatar in the secondd to the right, etc.  Scroll all the way to the right until you get to Console Settings or whatever it is called.  Click on that.  These are all of the console settings like video, audio, etc.  There should be something here that either talks about content or straight up parental controls.  If they are set, turn them off.

You will need to do all of this from the master account since the settings are created in a way that children can't change what their parents set.  So, if you have the master account, you'll be fine.

Good luck to you.

First off, thank you for responding.

However, I've tried this many times before. You suggesting this brought me to something I haven't noticed before though. I see the, "Turn Off Family Settings" option...but it says they are already disabled. I do not see how this is possible when I'm not "given permission" to watch RP rated videos, can't see Deal of the Week, and pretty much half the available items on the dashboard...it just keeps bringing all these questions in my head as to why it is happening if I have the settings, from what it seems, turned off.

Re: Content problems related to Family Settings?
Fallen65, The only way to Promote a Child Account to an Adult Account is when that person turns 18+ (US) and they can then use this here. It has nothing to do with the Console Settings or Family/ Parental Settings. You will need to Promote your Profile to an Adult Account.

I've been feeling left out recently. I think me and the advertisements will get along just fine.

For now...
