Lagging on Xbox live
I connect my xbox to an ADSL modem connection with a download speed of 512 kbps and upload speed of 128kbps.Is this speed fast enough to play without lag because im experincing a whole lot of it. Ive never played a lagless game ever. I tried switching off everything including the PC when im on live but it still lags. Im not sharing this connection with anybody at all. What could the problem be?Is it because i live in Botswana in Africa? I have even thoght about buying an online gaming modem which guarantes no lag at all. HOW CREDIBLE IS THAT?Anybody please help.

Re: Lagging on Xbox live
Well your speeds are a little low, and combined with a location in Botswana, I would guess that is why you are lagging.

You can go to   pingtest.com and pick a server on the West Coast of North America and see what your ping results (ping time and jitter).   I would bet the ping times are well over 200 ms with a lot of jitter.

This would cause your lag issues.

A "gaming" modem would not do a darn thing about any of this.

Your best bet is to find other players in Botswana to play with.  The more players that are "local" to you, the better your results will be.

Live long. Love life.
