I've been an Xbox 360 owner for 3 years and I just wanted to vent about a few things:
If I sign up for a free trial period online (which will then begin to debit my credit card when it runs out), I should not have to then phone up to stop this from happening. If you offer something ONLINE, you should offer the option to cancel, ONLINE.
Dude, calm down. You can turn it off ONLINE.

While we're on the subject of online gaming, why should I have to pay any more than I've already paid for a console and games to be able to play those games online? I shouldn't, unless I'm getting some sort of 'better' service out of it, which to be frank, I don't think I am. Other games companies aren't charging for it; what makes Microsoft so different?
Really? You want an online comparison of services? IMO, XBL is the superior online service. You get what you pay for. But you judge for yourself.

Finally, if I want to buy a game or add-on online, why should I have to buy 'coupons' (gamer points) which are sold in amounts totally differing from amounts most stuff is priced at, forcing me to spend more than I need to, rather than just making a straight cash transaction for the goods? I'm TRYING to give Micro$oft money here, and I feel they are pushing their luck.
Because they can. Nintendo uses a point system for their online purchases. Sony uses a PSN card and cash. MS is using what they feel is acceptable to their service. While I agree and think we should be able to use cash I am also fine with the current method.
Dude, you can buy points in 400MSP increments on the Zune website.

These questions are all rhetorical, I just felt I should let somebody know why I, and I doubt I'm alone here, do all of my online gaming on PlayStation. I mean, obviously there are people, a whole lot of people, for whom non of the things I've mentioned here are a problem, judging by Live's gamer stats, but I'm wondering if maybe people haven't stopped to think about the completely raw deal they're getting here.
Thanks.
You still have to pay for content on the PS3 dude. And you get what you pay for. If you don't understand that analogy, you will when you switch over. I'm not saying their service is complete garbage compared to Live, but you will see.
I for one think i am getting a great deal for Live. Seriously, dude. It costs me $0.13/day to use and enjoy Live. I can dig that out of my cushions or skip a few out of house dinners and lunches and be paid up for a year.
Wether you stick with Live or not, good luck.
FYI-when you write a huge wall of text like that try to space it into paragraphs to make it easier to read. ![Yes [Y]](/emoticons/emotion-21.gif)
