Xbox Live is all about the money.
I've been an Xbox 360 owner for 3 years and I just wanted to vent about a few things: If I sign up for a free trial period online (which will then begin to debit my credit card when it runs out), I should not have to then phone up to stop this from happening. If you offer something ONLINE, you should offer the option to cancel, ONLINE. While we're on the subject of online gaming, why should I have to pay any more than I've already paid for a console and games to be able to play those games online? I shouldn't, unless I'm getting some sort of 'better' service out of it, which to be frank, I don't think I am. Other games companies aren't charging for it; what makes Microsoft so different? Finally, if I want to buy a game or add-on online, why should I have to buy 'coupons' (gamer points) which are sold in amounts totally differing from amounts most stuff is priced at, forcing me to spend more than I need to, rather than just making a straight cash transaction for the goods? I'm TRYING to give Micro$oft money here, and I feel they are pushing their luck. These questions are all rhetorical, I just felt I should let somebody know why I, and I doubt I'm alone here, do all of my online gaming on PlayStation. I mean, obviously there are people, a whole lot of people, for whom non of the things I've mentioned here are a problem, judging by Live's gamer stats, but I'm wondering if maybe people haven't stopped to think about the completely raw deal they're getting here. Thanks.

Jesus it's optional content, you get what you pay for with the games in the shop and if you want to further your experience you can pay for addons. Don't like it, don't buy it. Simple

Re: Xbox Live is all about the money.
I'm so done with these threads.  Seriously if you don't like it don't buy it.  If you don't like the way MS does business then don't do business with them.  It's not that hard of a concept.  Seriously people seriously get over yourselfs.  If the PS3 is so much more fun and whatever then go use that console sell your 360 and get the f*** off the forums.  Thanks.

Re: Xbox Live is all about the money.
Are you really crying about having to pay $ 4.00 a month to play on xbox live. You have to remember the whole cost that goes into just making one game, they have to pay a lot of people including the server provider. So you can switch to playstation and the crappy servers. You pay $ 20.00 for 1600 microsoft points thats like 1.2 cents for each point. So stop being a cry baby or switch over to playstation and do your crying there.

I wasn't aware Microsoft was supposed to be a non-profit organization. PS3 games are awesome! The PSN sucks!

Are you prepared?
Are you hungry?

Really? You want an online comparison of services? IMO, XBL is the superior online service. You get what you pay for. But you judge for yourself.

PSN and XBL

Because they can. Nintendo uses a point system for their online purchases. Sony uses a PSN card and cash. MS is using what they feel is acceptable to their service. While I agree and think we should be able to use cash I am also fine with the current method.

Dude, you can buy points in 400MSP increments on the Zune website.

You still have to pay for content on the PS3 dude. And you get what you pay for. If you don't understand that analogy, you will when you switch over. I'm not saying their service is complete garbage compared to Live, but you will see.

I for one think i am getting a great deal for Live. Seriously, dude. It costs me $0.13/day to use and enjoy Live. I can dig that out of my cushions or skip a few out of house dinners and lunches and be paid up for a year.

Wether you stick with Live or not, good luck.

He got me my mommy does buy all my stuff....wait nope not true I pay for it all.  My rent, my car, my food, my clothing, and most importantly my Xbox 360.  What's funny is I buy what I want and if I want it and it is too much money for me then I just don't buy it.

Oh snap Micro$teal fanboys! Bess believe I'm in here! The truth is Micro$oft only charges because people with 0 responsibility and money burning a hole in their pocket buy it. True a lot of people think it's affordable NOW... but what happens when they know they can hike the prices? Lesson in history: New games USED to cost $29.99-$39.99. Now they cost $60.00-$70.00. But I agree game developers that make good games deserve to get paid However, Micro$teal isn't offering anything THAT spectacular. Servers you say? Have you ever played Gears 2 online or Tekken 6? It's lagfest 2009. They don't make gaming companies make their own servers so it's whoever has the crappiest connection. Case and point. Let the fanboys pay their prices but once my subscription lapses I'll be on the crappy yet FREE PSN. Because most importantly gaming is a hobby that should be fun, not make you debate life decisions. And for those that are tired of these threads... go elsewhere... Go buy a lightsaber for 400G.

I have responsibility I just budget myself and buy what I can afford.  The problem is people think they should be handed things.  I remember when a 2 liter of coca cola was .99 cents.  Now it's 1.89, prices go up what a shock.

The reason people hate these threads is because they continue to pop up and everything they mention in it they are not forced to buy at all.  They don't need to buy avatar clothing, but a lot of people enjoy dressing up their avatar to fit their personality.  Believe it or not people enjoy doing that so let them.  People love customizing things to their taste.

People also like to make threads expressing their dislike in the price gouging. Who are you to troll these threads and tell them they can't have a view point? Obviously you've seen a lot of these and you've cared for none, yet you still insist on coming in here just to belittle them. Get a life.

I did. Smile [:)]

And it is called inflation. You can't expect prices to remain the same forever. If that were the case, cars would only cost $2k-4k, soda would only cost a nickel and we'd still have penny candy...
