Hi guys, I've got a problem with my XBL account. I try to sign into my profile when I turn on my Xbox, but it says can't connect to Xbox LIVE. I try multiple times but no avail. I test my network connection, it says everything is fine, then I sign in without problems, until the next time I want to sign in. I've tried recovering my gamertag, no dice. I've also tried signing into another profile and it works without any problems. Help would be awesome.

i have no clue what causes this but i have had to do the same thing for about a year now ... i would always just test it then sign on ... only takes about 15 seconds

Perhaps the issue is DHCP?  Given that it will not connect until you force the xbox to retry its network settings?

Are you guys using manually assigned IP Addresses or DHCP?

Yeah I'm using manually assigned IP address to keep my NAT settings open. But I've noticed it may be GTA IV update (Games on Demand GTA IV). I've cleared my cache and I can sign in properly like I should, but then I go play GTA IV. I download the update, and then it stops signing me into LIVE. Oh BTW GTA IV isn't in my games played list because this isn't my real account. It's my brothers, I forgot my WLID for Xbox.com.

hi folks.. got a bit of an issue which is similar, but not really.  after using my netgear adsl2+ gateway for almost 6 months, yesterday it started saying that it could not connect to the net (then, could connect to the net, but not to xbl etc).  it keeps giving me different error msgs in the network setting test - mtu settings (fixed), dns server (checked with isp - all fine).  my settings are acquired automatically, and having spent the last couple of hours on the phone with various supports (isp and xbl) - i'm back to where i started - with no access to xbl.  and xbl support told me i didn't have a compatible gateway (however, it's worked for the last 6 months).  sorry for rambling.  just hoping someone has had this issue, and remembers how they fixed it.  thanks in advance.
