Ok mine will do that some times, you have to jsut shuffle around resyncing the controller and headset, eventually it should work.

i sure hope that is the problem, just a update bug...  I just bought a new controller, and started having these problems, so i chalked it up to be a mic problem, so i bought a new mic.   same deal...  is there a quick fix, BESIDES having to purchase a wired headset and doing that resyncing mess?

Re: Wireless headset connects to slot 2 not 1
It's a mechanical design flaw in the connector on the controller. I posted about it in a couple threads. Unless you're going to take apart you controller and solder the circuit closed then all you can do is plug in and unplug a wired headset until the switch stops telling the controller a wired one is plugged in. A complete pain that can be undone by just the rumble motors in the controller.

You can fix it permanently with a simple jumper wire and the chatpad and wired mics will still function properly.
