Hardcore = skill?
It has been said that Hardcore takes more skill. More tactical skill, more gun skill, and you need better aiming. I was sitting at home one night, and thought "Hmm, let's do an experiment."

Well, I decided to plug in the ol' capture card, and make a vid of me playing a game of HCTDM. Not only was I playing, I vowed not to touch the left trigger for the whole time.

At the end of that game- Challenge Complete: MVP Team Hardcore

For some reason, it doesn't have the showing of the challenge, because the ending was taken out by accident... But if you look near the end when I'm spectating a guy with an M60, you can see that I'm on top of the leaderboard.

Here it is.

For me it's obvious that hardcore is for people with bad aim.

Re: Hardcore = skill?

this doesnt prove anything. you could have killed them using the left trigger faster in most of the situations. yes the reticle is bigger with hip fire but the exchange is that its less accurate meaning you have to keep your aim longer to kill. so i wouldnt consider someone using hip fire to have bad aim at all especially at longer ranges where it is harder to keep your aim since its alot less accurate then aiming down the sights. longer ranges = smaller target = less space in the hip fire reticle to yield a hit.

Re: ######## = skill?

I just play it when I have been getting hit markers all day.
I only play HCHQ, every other playlist in HC, every one just camps.
It doesn't require more skill, if anything, less.

Well the first 2 kills you didn't really need to aim in, one guy was planting a claymore then for your third kill you got really lucky. I stopped watching then.

Well, this video was not intended for all audiences.
I was just making a point as to how you only need to hit them with 1-2 bullets, and they're dead.

Please, watch the whole thing andtell me- if I was playing core, how many of those kills would I have gotten?

So if I knife only in normal and then say "If I did that in hardcore how many of those kills would I have gotten?" it would mean playing normal takes no skill...

Hardcore takes no skill at all. It's a whole bunch of campers waiting to shoot you with one bullet in the back. Don't you notice that hardcore games almost never make it to the 750 score limit.

If everyone camped how would any points be scored at all?

So knifing is a sure- fire thing. If you have your sights on him, and you are within about 5 feet, then unless you suck you're going to knife him every time. With hip-fire, you only have to land 1 or 2 bullets and it's a kill, no matter what range.
I'm not trying to be mean, sorry if I offended you.

I'm not offended just trying to argue my point. So what if you only have to land 1-2 bullets, landing them before your opponent means you have to be better then him.

Tactics really do apply more in hardcore. Running out like a douche bag doesn't work too well which most people do and then come to the conclusion that hardcore is just full of campers. They're not always camping they're just not running down the middle of the street expecting people to pop out like a cardboard target.

I find HC to be much easier. That's why I only play regular: it's more of a challenge, and overall it's more fun.

This is my experience as well.

Said it before, of my friends there are several who really rock when playing hardcore. They move to core and are just "meh". I finally asked one a few weeks ago why they thought this was and he flat out said that he didn't have the reaction times to play core and needed HC to create a personal advantage.

I could care less what anybody plays - have some fun shooting fools. But again, I find HC much easier based on my own personal playstyle but don't really care to argue about it.

This is one reason why IW is so frickin' sucessful...the game offers something for all players at different levels of ability.

Good or bad you can still find a game to play = $$$$.

I never said it takes skill, I was saying that all you have to do is hit one bullet and they're dead, which is why HC doesn't take as much gun skill.

Hardcore defiantly takes away from the game, and makes less effort needed. It seems if you try moving you'll get killed instantl, but if you just cover good lanes then you're invincible. It's strange how some people are so hard headed about an extra game mode made to be abnormal. It's just simple to conclude that HC makes less of the game's challenges. Even in real life only about a quarter of people shot died instantly.

I prefer hardcore, you cant just run around tossing nades everywhere and shooting at everything that moves. In hardcore you have to take your teammates into consideration when you shoot or toss a grenade.

Re: Hardcore = skill?

Skill has nothing to do with hardcore. You do need to be more carefull since you can kill team mates, less health and no constant radar cover. Its just like selecting easy, regular, harderend and veteran in the campaign mode everyone has their own taste and if you don't like one mode just play the other.

But still, even though you kill someone with 2 bullets from the hip, they can do the same. It doesn't mean it's easy because you can kill someone with less bullets than in core. You still die from less bullets than in core. I agree with the camping thingy, but for the easier to kill part is two sided blade.

Agreed, you do have to play a little more cautiously in HC. It's not much different from Core, just slowed down alot with some optons removed. Also, the silenced M14 is a beast in HC. It's literally a silenced sniper rifle.
