MY friends and I have the same problem, and probably other people too. We had to create a new account to join Xbox Live, which meant we lost a LOT of gamerscore. We would appreciate it if we had it back.

 you didnt lose the gamerscore. Since it was associated with your old tag then it stays there. You cannot transfer gamerscores to another tag. If you create a new account then you start from scratch.
