Who won SF3? Ryu? So he wins SF1, SF2, and what else? Oh wait, Akuma pwned Bison on SF2, right? But Ryu was the official champion?!

The SF3 plot was so weak and full of fillers, it feels like most fighters had abstract or the least detailed plotine as possible in order to avoid contradictions, or convolution.

I think, since Ryu is still the golden boy, and his ending can somewhat co-exist many other characters', such as Guile, Chun-li. Sakura, Gouken, Akuma, Abel, etc... and since there were tons of cyborgs (27 or something), it's plausible to assume that each character had a final bout with a different one, making Ryu the one who fights Seth. So, from this perspective, Ryu won yet again.

I don't think it matters at this point, Capcom doesn't care to tell a clear plot, so I've given up on it.

Fighting games really annoy me when they come up with "official plot" champions for tournies, except for MK--since the core factions are good, evil, and neutral, and each characters sways according to personal goals. But games like Dead or Alive, Tekken, etc... kinda makes it feel like the other fighters are pathetic, and will never win, yet they act like they're number one.

For instance, in many of those games they come up with excuses to justify why certain guys lost or "didn't win" the tourny. E.g., Ryu Hayabusa and Hayate are the paragon warrior of the series, so anybody else winning is kinda awkward. Although they did a great job with DoA4's plot, the official ending really shows every character contributing to the cause and demonstrating that it wasn't about wining--becoming champion, instead it was a co-op mission to destroy the corp that was exploiting them for its goal to build the ultimate killing humanoid.
Helena's ending is the best ending I've seen in a fighting game to date, it gave chills.

In Oro's ending it shows that he is insanely powerful, and due to his age, poise, and wisdom, it feels like he's even more powerful than Gouken, and Akuma; so who destroys Gill, it feels like Gill was very much alive, and ready to plot his next scheme (SFV, lol). I wish they'd bring him back, he's my favorite SF boss.

Yes, I know... Stick out tongue [:P] but I'm not too caught up on his "cheap" move set, with unavoidable super arts like Seraphic Wings (or whatever they are called), Resurrection, and the cool Meteor Strike. Bosses will be cheap, so they might as well be badass and not lame like Seth.
What I like the most about him is his design, and his idealism, it's twisted, but it feels like it's a cause greater than the cliches good vs evil. He's more like divine darkness, believers would feel like it's the normal course of events.
And yes, he's is arguably one of the hardest bosses on the hardest difficulty, but I wouldn't have him otherwise.

Well, it depends on who you use, I personally could manage him with Ken, Chun-Li, and Ryu, in very few trials, but I would play the arcade mode for fun with several characters, and on average he's very hard in my opinion. Just to put it in a lame perspective (where 1=95% first trial, and 5=patience and luck are much required, in average 5-10 trials) beating Seth with Dan on the hardest difficulty is a 2/5 challenge, and back then doing it with Sean (vs Gill) was a 4/5.

Are you sure you are talking about this Gill?

If you are you must be like some kinda SF3 god lmao. I think Daigo might be easier than Gill.

Gill full parrys my combos, he resurrects (Even though if you hit him while he is doing it you can prevent him from getting full health)

He Has undodgeable moves. He is like the ultimate fighter. He knows what you are gonna do. And he will punish it!

I love 3rd Strike more than any other fighting game on this planet, but this guy is just unfair.

Have you guys ever played against the cpu in training mode with I think 8 stars...and with guages on refill...the cpu is insane...it's like they do EVERY possible counter and the best one at that...they don't use FADC's though...that's where the human mind comes in lol but would be sick to see a CPU level where they do all types of crazy stuff.  I always put super gauge on normal with 8 stars cuz the cpu will constantly do the super.  Refills are great for endlessly practicing FADC combos.

I remember how unbearable Seth was on the hardest difficulty and made me realize how very deep & creative this game is.  I think people just hate Seth because of how he's sometimes used online..the constant jumping HP stuff...but when you run into a Seth that does all sorts of combos it's hard to not just sit back and watch.

Gill is AI, I guess I played him enough times to get used to his cheap tactics. And the Resurrection is all about timing the correct especial in order to halt in about 25-45% of his health or something like that. Being good against AI doesn't translate to being as good online, I know this from experience, lol.
