Same as radio, but there is a reason for their ads. The websites you access are not receiving money b/c you paid for internet service. They only get paid when you pay them to access the site, or by having ads on the site. Same for TV you are paying the cable provider for the channels, however the broadcasters are not paid based on the number of people paying for cable. So in order to stay on the air they show ads to make money. MS however is getting paid directly which makes this a completely different scenario.

I do agree with you though, this is not a big deal. MS is able to milk money from the companies willing to pay for those ads. That money can then be used to improve features on XBL. XBL is not even expensive at all, its never gonna be free, and it never should be free. The money MS gains from ads is just one thing MS does to help keep gold membership at its low price. If they take ads out the price of gold membership will surely go up by a good bit.

It depends on if your the kind of person who watches things happen or who actually helps shape the future. Not to be aggressive or mean but i find the kind of people who post things like you post to be lazy. So lazy that they will actually accept less for more. So lazy that they will accept things just because its easier.

How about at the Movie theatre, that gets my goat.  Pay an insane amount of money to get in with your girl.  Then pay highly inflated prices for popcorn and watered down pop...& THEN... watch car commercials for 20 minutes!!!

I couldnt care less about adverts on the dashboard, only if i'm playing a game and i get a pop-up advert. Then i'l get pissed off.

I help shape the the world around me everyday with my work.  As for being bothered by 1 or 2 ads in a menu system than I can easily flip past, no as of right now, it doesn't bother me.  If there are a whole bunch of them, it would probably be a different story.  When I get home after a long day and decide to play, 1 or 2 ads aren't as important as just playing or watching a vid.  But if this is all you have, by all means rattle the cage.
