Re: Any tips?

Play it like if you were really in the situation.  I know when some enemies are over a small hill, I approach it with extreme caution.  Don't run over the hill guns blazing, flank flank and more flank.

And don't hurry, cause when you take your time, you are more successful and will spend less time restarting your mission.

Yeah was playing the first mission coming upto the SAMs and was trying to get it with the javelin. For some reason wouldn't lock on to it so then I came across a tank on my way down tried to C4 it and died. Going tp give it another go later.
Can you tell me whats the difference between the the grenades firable from the grenade launcher.
One is a HE grenade and the others a HEDP.

Re: Any tips?
Here are two good tips to start off on: Stick to your mission and the 4 F's

1)Stick to your mission.

If you are tasked at destroying, say a AA emplacement, focus on demoing it and getting out. Don't say around or try to eliminate all of the enemies in the area! Doing so puts you in greater danger of getting you or your team shot. Kill only when the enemy in your way of your mission or when ordered to do so.
Less fire = Less attention = Less incoming enemy fire

2)The 4 F's - Find, Fix, Flank, Finish
Find - Locate the enemy
Fix - Force the enemy into a location or behind cover with suppressive fire (this is your machine/support gunners job)
Flank - While suppressing the enemy's location, move two or more of your team left/right of there position. Eather to engage them behind there cover or close enough to toss a frag.
Finish - self explanatory

Re: Any tips?
^^^ Nice...

Just finished mission 3 on hardcore... Took me a couple of days... Did not think it was going to happen. I feel better about the next few missions now, but I think that monestary mission might be a real beast. Also the missions with the clock running are going to be tough.

But best bet is take your time when you can. On normal it's not that hard. Checkpoints are a real blessing.Wait until you try hardcore with no checkpoints (meaning no sqaud respawns).

Any tips for defending the village on mission 3?
Thought I was finished after the first wave and then just got headshotted from a bush FML.
Also is the Annihilaton game mode a fancy name for Team DM?

United We Stand is pretty easy, ditch your M16 w/reflex and get a Chinese/American Rifle with scope.  Helps out alot especially if you have a standard def.

BFBC2 is amazing.

Stick to your mission....so don't worry about the sub-missions? I'm still on the 1st level and I can complete the primary objectives, I try and go to the other end of the island to complete/take on the secondary missions but the extraction chopper gets tired of waiting for me and leaves, then I lose.

If you want to do the secondary objectives, do you attempt those first?

Well, primary mission objectives come first. Secondary/sub-missions are up to you to decide, since they are not necessary to the overall mission success.

I have never had the extraction chopper leave on me, that's a first I herd of it doing so.

One big suggestion is to use your AI.  They really are helpful.  I never have heard of the helo leaving and I walked around for a long time on the first mission.  You don't need to do the objectives in order either.

Me neither.... And I too have wasted some SERIOUS time on that mission... Even took an enemy helicopter for a joy ride and my extraction chopper patiently waited.

Re: Any tips?
Single player ai are not too much of a problem, but online you cant tell who is ai or a real player. In my experiance look at a squad (if you have time), look at where a player is shooting, if they run with purpose, hide effectivly behind cover or keep running if you shoot at them. Ai begin to crawl when taking fire, ovbiously we keep legging it to a building or wall to avoid being in the open any longer. Also if  you get the chance shoot the player who is at the front of the group, sometime you get lucky as the rest of the squad is under the follow command.

In terms of multiplayer, dont stand up if you dont have to, hide behind atleast a tree, bushes provide awsome cover for snipers etc, dont stand in windows as you stand out too much, a nice round head framed for a sniper to pick off.

Tell a squad member to man the turrent. Not your support guy. Then to the right of the turrent acrossc the road. Plant mines by the trees and down the hill side. Then grab some cover and watch out for rockets. You can jump into the APC but it gets taken out quick.

Did pretty much the same thing, except I put a guy on each gun on the east side and hid on the second floor of the little building by the southeast gun (by the road that heads east).

The second floor of that building is a real good spot to fire from.  One time I did get over run and got trapped inside. tried smoking the building out and fleeing batman style....But I was capped.

Re: Any tips?

I knew I was going to hide there, so I set up some mines for a defense... Including the doorway in the building to the west. I actually fell out the second floor doorway (on the west side) and that's the guy that got me. Not the next time though!

Even though all my guys eventually bought it, I just keep hiding, using the map to keep me in the right corner of the building (under cover). Eventually the blue dots got all the red dots (I only took shots I had too) and the mission was over.

Whew!

This sounds odd to me too.  I wonder if you have cleared the LZ for the chopper to land or if you just went straight off to take out the SAMS?  After you clear the LZ of the PLA patrols, the chopper will land, at this point you can board the chopper and end the mission, or you can take all the time you want to complete all the secondary objectives and get the achievement for flying the PLA chopper around Skirinka (the small island that you are on).
