2 days from MW2 and I get an E74 error, bad, but not the end of the world.
Then i go to register for repair and find out that my warranty expired 4/7/2008, but hang on - this was a brand new and virgin console when Microsoft sent it to me and that was at the start of 2008.
History wise, my launch console died in 2007 and after a major mess up with the repair centre I was given a replacement down at MS Towers.
That replacement lasted all of a year before it had to go to the repair centre, mainly due I believe to it being a pre-used demo model, fair enough. So in 2008 this second repair again got messed up and I ended up with an overdue and un-touched console coming back to me, eventually MS kindly replaced it with a brand new Forza2/Pinata model.
I assumed that given the fact this new console has a new serial number and was as I mentioned 'brand new', surely the warranty still stands on this unit. I would be surprised if the warranty is down to a financial transaction back in 2006 and bears no relevance to the actual piece of hardware involved.
As mentioned in the thread title, I am hoping for some clarity from Mods / Rockpen before I start discussing with teh lovely people at the call centre. ;)
