It depends on what the switch is connected to;  a router, a modem, what?

Your question is confusing, if you only intend to have one Xbox connected to Live at one time why would you lag?

If you had a 360 and a PC on the same connection, and one person was downloading on the PC while the other tried to play may lag, as the PC would be taking up all the bandwidth.

2wire something or other.  my question is if only one is on live at a time will having both connected to a switch and not directly connected to the box will it cause any lag?

The switch will not cause any lag.

However the device you linked to is not a switch.

please tell me its not the 2wire 2701HG-B
if it is, you will most likely have problems with your connection. Xbox Live uses too much bandwidth and overloads the router/modem and causes it to reboot automatically ever 15-20 minutes or so... but, if its not, thank god hahah

anyways, you wont have any trouble running two xbox's on your network as long as you have a fast enough internet connection :)

as said before, the logitech play link is not a switch, it would be good to know what your actual setup was.

assuming there is an actual switch in the mix here, the only time you would potentially see problems really is if it was a hub and not a switch.  This could cause a lot of packet collisions and degrade the network performance.

The logitech play link is 1.5mbps only, so if you had a few devices using this you could see 'lag' quite quickly. even a local file transfer would soak this link.

Need to get proper model info for all the devices in your network.
