I got a wireless adapter about 4 months ago as a gift from a friend and for the last 3 its worked great. but now the adapter has had problems connecting into the USB port. when i plug in the adapter the red light on it appears for a split second and then dissapears. can someone shed some light on why its now suddenly stopped working? (because i am not going to buy one for 100$!)

Did you try plugging it into different USB ports on the Xbox 360?

yes i tried all of the USB ports.

When all else fails try it on another xbox. If its not working on another box its highly likely damaged.
