Who is the main vocalist now?
Everywhere I look I see William Duvall.
But I thought it was Cantrell?

Could someone shed some light on me.
Cause now I have no idea who is singing on Black Gives Way to Blue :O

No no. I know Layne is dead.

But what I'm asking is, the new guy in the band, William Duvall. Is he the main vocalist?
Everywhere I read it says he is the new frontman.

But at Live Performances and music videos it looks like Cantrell is the main vocalist.

What I'm asking pretty much is, is it Cantrell or Duvall that sounds like Layne?

It's Cantrell . Even as early as the "Dirt" sessions , Layne was not 100% most of the time , forcing Jerry Cantrell to take over most of the vocal duties . As far as the new album , it's still Cantrell producing the vocals , with Duvall as more of a harmonies guy . That's why the new album sounds so good , it's the same singer you've always known and loved ...don't believe me ? Just take a listen to "Boggy Depot" or "Degradation Trip" , Cantrell's two solo albums ,  it's just Alice In Chains material without the namesake . And they're both awesome albums worthy of a listen .

Yeah it seems Jerry acts as the main vocalist now since in there news songs William sings in few parts.

Cantrell does lead vocals a few times, but does mostly harmonies, DuVall is mostly the lead vocalist.

He probably did it for Tax purposes. Like the frontman for Disaster Area, Hotblack Desiato did. 

duvall is the main guy, cantrell as always writes most of the lyrics and still does his back up singing.
