too me it was the first part of the story. i've never had a game were when you are running from on group of monsters that popped out at you more kept on coming. The graphics the story the enemies and everything did it for me it never slowed down too much and the game stayed fresh to me tell me what you think or thiught of the game

The "scariest" part for me in particular would be the beginning when you're defenseless and running.

I loved the game unlike most other games no one really talks bad about dead space which is good. i hated the parts where the unkillable fat guys, when all the doors magicly lock and the necromorphs come out and eat you slive, but it was great how you got killed, personaly the coolest killing cinematic was the tentacal head things that took over your body

the creepiest part for me was this part where you go into this hallway and the lights go out but you hear necromorphs everywhere.... another was the second level when you go to sick bay

lol so nobody cries that I gave away the story.

By far the scariest part was the ending. I was finally glad i beat the game, saw issacs face and and was like damn so thats what everyone wanted to see.

lol not really but its the only part of the game taht made me jump a lil lol.

There is a LOT of them to choose from and i haven't even beaten the game yet; most of what you'l have said i alsorank high in the scariest moments, 'specially when not being ableto shot that tentacle thing for teh first time.
I thought that inside that decontamination chamber was pretty damn scary too tbh, the room flashes red and al the lights go off etc., then they start bursting in above and behind

Yes.  The sad think about Dead Space is that the beginning is very scary and tense but it gets less scary as you go on.

The beginning was the scariest from any game i've ever played, running to the lift with those things chasing you. But as you go on you seem to notice that you're constantly on edge. Although to be fair, the game does keep you on your toes, it's rare that when i'm playing i know exactly when i'm gonig to get jumped.

After you got away from the Renegenerator (or so you thought) in the medical room or w/e, and when you are in the room right before the lobby, and the Regenerator, a bunch of pregnant and regular necromorphs popped out and well...scary.

And Darkness and Decay and the Red Death held illimitable dominion over all.

I honestly think there are far to many good parts to say which was the most scariest. I enjoyed everymoment of the game. ^_^

You're confusing zero-gravity and the vacuum of space. You are correct -- there is no sound in the vacuum of space.  But you can have zero-gravity with an atmosphere around you (i.e. in a falling elevator, in the zero-gravity aircraft rides, or in a non-accelerating spacecraft).

That was one of the most cinematic parts of the game. I'll never forget when it happened to me and I just stood there aiming my plasma cutter, waiting for something to pop out but it never does. Awesome.

The scariest moment for me happened in the boss fight with the Regenerator where you have to freeze him in the chryo chamber. I didn't realize this, and I ran into the next room to escape instead. I was watching the Regenerator through the glass and he climbed off into some vent, so I figured it was a scripted event and the boss fight was over, when I suddenly heard something beside me and turned to see him right beside me!! I actually yelled out loud because it gave me such a fright. Turns out he came out through a vent in the room I was in, meanwhile I thought I was safe the whole time haha!

surprised nobody mentioned the long elevator in the bridge where you find the video log of how the captain died

i had my tv pretty loud cause i was trying to watch the video log while riding the elevator and it stopped and it was just dead silence for a few seconds and then you hear this lady scream incredibly loud and it broke the silence so badly i jumped ;-;

Of all the Necromorphs in the game, the first time i heard the Really lanky/tall ones, i absolutely bricked it. The sound eminating from those guys does their prowess justice!

Yeah those guys are creepy as hell. The first time I saw one in that long hallway and it comes around the corner I literally said "WTF!!!" out loud.
