I've had this game since release and got most the achievements on my first playthrough, leaving just flags and templars to get.

So after a long, long time, i'm going back for the flags....but do you think it would be easier to start from the begining and get the flags when the districts are smaller, or plug on with my original save?

the best and easiest way to collect all 435 flags and 40 templars in one sweep through the cities is to wait until you have Memory Block 6 available(since its the earliest memory block with all areas unlocked). Then either use:
 
http://www.assassinscreed-maps.com/Maps.htm which takes roughly 12 hours to collect all flags/templars from scratch. This site has a interactive map with a checkoff list and pictures that appear when the mouse cursor is moved over the flag/templar locations.

http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=698768905B3D3297&annotation_id=annotation_346878&feature=iv which takes roughly 6 hours to collect all the flags/templars from scratch. (CREDIT goes to ianxofour). This guy's youtube videos will walk you through every single flag/templar location, but as long you follow his exact path, you should be able to collect everything in no time.

I followed the videos linked above last week and got all flags and templars in just a few hours. Whoever made the videos is my hero!

Cool, cheers for the linky....the missus is away next week, so guess what i'll be doing. No having to stop and put the cat in the wash and letting the plates out :D

The offical guide is very helpfull, try it. Failing that, make a metal note of where you have been. I do both. ^_^

 I decided to start the game over and now that I'm finished I decided I would collect the flags again they are so much easier to spot with an hdtv then on a "old" television.  I don't know why its so much easier to spot these things with hdtv but some them you can see from blocks away!

Ha, best of luck. The flags and Templars are the last achievements I need, but I doubt I'll ever go back to find them all. Oh well...

Seems kinda mind twisting to follow the youtube walk through and play the game at the same time. I did use the youtube link to figure out how to get the "hardest (King Richard) flag". The one on top of that pillar.....wow, tryed getting that for weeks...finally got it, like winning the lottery. I like doing games the old way....keep looking. I still have a few flags to go in each city and 8 more templers. Definitely replay from memory 6...you have all your weapons and abilities and full health bar. Can't wait for AC2.

^ funny... i think its mind twisting to spend 100 hours searching for flags, only to come up 1 short... and then not even knowing which flag is the one thats missing.  to each his own.  good luck.
