LOL all those games on the HDD with 6.6GB free......not happening.

My 20GB HDD annoyed me to the point of shelling out the $400 for the new MW2 console. I was due for an upgrade from the 1st gen 360's. Whoda thunk it. A unit that lasted this long.

Excuse my ignorance, but why does he need another HD?  Are you downloading the games or something?

New high score, is that bad? What's that mean? Did I break it?

Re: Is my 20GB harddrive enough for these?
if you install the whole game definately know most games take 5 or more gigs of spac without DlC Halo3 installed with DLC around 7 gigs. sadly most of the space is used alrady so you may only have 12 to 16 gigs. you may have enough to store 2 on one hardrive. foe example games like fallout 3 and farcry 2. If youa are just using game saves with the upcoming DLC you should have more than enough thats if you do not install them.

game release dates are confusing as this http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2004785759717366066

Wow, I didn't even know that you could install these games on the xbox.  Crazy.  Is it really that much better?

for some games, oblivion, mass effect and fable 2 gave me a big speed boost, but games like halo, gears, bioshock, fallout 3 didnt really do anything

Certain games its actually slower to play off the HDD. But those are few and far between.

but it also doesnt read off the disk after first load up, so if something accidentally moves or knocks the xbox over.... dont have to go and get a new game. :)

Just to clarify, you CANNOT use a damaged disc in place of a good-condition one, even when the game is already copied to the HD.

My friend's Fallout 3 disc got destroyed beyond all recognition (the 360 thought it was a DVD lol), so I popped my copy in, copied to his HD. He puts his disc back in, and it still doesn't work. So yeah, just thought I'd chime in.

Offtopic,

You guys know Borderlands only takes up 3.3Gb of space to install?

Weird, it seems like it should take up at least more than 5Gb in my opinion...

well, they only copy a certain amount of data of the disc to speed loading times up, they dont copy every peice of data, also almost every game has certain strings of data located in multiple locations on the disc to increase loading times, removing that dummy data could easy make up 1 gb in a rpg
