marketplace suggestion, downloading content in advance
i was wondering, for people like me who spend 10 or 15 minutes buying points online, thinking it over, what if there was an option to temporarily download content while you come up with the points to purchase it, it will be downloaded but NOT playable until you purchase it. this would be useful for content and games that take up more than 1 GB, especially xbox 360 games on demand. for small content like rock band songs or avatar shirts, it would seem tedious.

I am not so impatient that i cannot wait to download it till i purchase it, it would just seem like a convenience for anyone who regularly purchases content.

it would be good for legit people, but im sure modders would find a way to exploit it.......not that it would matter all that much considering they pirate every thing every created anyway

Nice thought, But, There is the possibility of someone somehow getting free stuff. MS would not like that, So, I don't think they will put this in.

with all due respect, i honestly thing that would be a pretty bad idea.. i mean, it sounds cool and all, but as another poster said, people out there would find a way to exploit it for their own personal gain.

it's almost like walking into a consumer electronics store and walking out with a brand new tv. you tell the clerk, "oh no, i'm not going to turn it on and use it. i'm just going to let it sit there until i come back up here at a later date and pay you the money for it. i'm just going to take it home right now!"

Its called demos. All of the demos of Arcade games you can buy are the full version, you just need to pay to unlock the full version capabilities.

the people that would have pirated the content would have done so even if you could not pre-download the items. I do not see MS doing this a not so much for the pirated aspect of it, but it would take some logistics to get it done. and if the current system is not broken, why spend money and resources developing a new system that will not make you more money over the old system.

yes but the OP was talking bout Large games and such, things over 1GB in size like Games on Demand and such. While it would be nice, as I stated in the post above this one, I do not see MS doing it. It would be good for downloading something a day or so before release date so when that date comes you could just play and not have to spend time downloading it then.
