Since it's called Dragon Age: Origina, I think it's safe to assume there will be a sequel. Hopefully along the lines of the soon to come Mass Effect 2, which takes your previous data and carries it over.

  awww rats! i knew i shouldnt have deleted my mass effect data :(

I'll just say there will definitely be a second and do get excited about me2 carrying over save it just carries appearance and the choices you made with the character lvl and items will be destroyed basically.
