hey everyone, a mate once mentioned to me that when you buy 1 year xbox live gold, you get a couple hundred points bundled with it. is that still around? cheers

That's a bundle pack available in some stores - think it was called the "Live Starter Pack". Comes with 12 months of Live, a wired headset, 200 MSpoints and a code to redeem an Arcade game (Bankshot Billiards 2 is usually what it is). Usually priced between $80-$100, depending on store chain and if it's on special, etc...

Not a bad deal if you're just starting on Live or need a new headset, but otherwise you'll probably find a stand-alone MS subscription much cheaper.

check out www.gamecard.com.au they have 12+1 month live subs for $49.95 at the moment. Or maximus cards for cheap subs, many forum members use these sites and can also back me up on how good they are.

good god those are good prices!! u sure these guys are legit i mean, thats a big big price difference in what they got for 13 months of gold as opposed to MS. how the hell do these guys make any money like that. u sure their legit?

Gamecard is 100% legit. I've used them many times for points and a subscription. The codes are in my inbox within an hour

they are, I have used both in the last fortnight. I got my partners from maximus for around $48 with the exchange rate then I got myself one from gamecard for $45 (it was only a 12 month as the +1's were out of stock).

Maximus is a US-based site, so they're US codes (usually US$50 for a year). With our Aussie dollar so strong at the moment (up around $0.85-$0.90 usually), it's much cheaper to use those two sites suggested.

Live prepaid codes are region-free so they're fine, but when it comes to MSpoints they're region-locked so you've gotta be careful and find some "Aussie" points codes.
