Re: Vs: Re: Admit it

I've had the UFO glitch a number of times - it seems like if it happens once in a session, it'll happen over and over...

And I'm curious - I was playing last night and got burned a few times by my character not being on the screen for a serve... does anyone out there play this on a HD TV?  Do you have a better veiw or wider view of the game?

I have an HD TV, and nope, i don`t have a better view of the game. Just by the way, there`s this little thing i`ve been wondering about, but i`m not 100% sure if it is a bug or just my own clumsiness: Sometimes, when the ball is flying towards you, and you`re about to do a pass, your character moves to a passing position and is about to hit the ball, but it goes through her, and your partner jumps up, as if she was going to strike the ball from your pass. And when i say the ball goes through her, i mean it. The same happens sometimes the other way too: Your partner tries to pass the ball to you, but the ball just goes through her, and your character jumps up and tries to hit the ball, that was dropped.

I don't think this has even happened on my side of the net, but I think I've seen it on the CPU side a few times - but it's hard for me to figure out if it's a glitch or if they just screwed up the set!

I bought it because it's part of the DOA franchise.  The boobs are a bonus.  I will admit if it was just the guys on a island I wouldn't buy it, unless they were killing each otherDevil [6].  And please remember that Tecmo is a japanese company and the Japanese eats this type of stuff up.

LMFAO! re sepllel chckewer! fiancee bought this for me as a present....I think it's kinda silly game but the best thing hands down is the opening movie for the game, almost worth the price of admission on its own.

Exactly.  What's to admit?  Tecmo has enough of a grasp to know that the Girls of DoA are one of its biggest *cough* selling points.  I also got it because it is a DoA game.  I was a bit disappointed in the Volleyball in this one, but the wave racing is pretty fun.  Who knows, someday I may actually complete a single collection.  Right now I'm just slowly working on each individual girl's suits.  But for what it is, Eye Candy with some simple gameplay -- I'm not complaining.

I actually just wanted a Volleyball game. Plus it has Butt Battle, those crazy Japanese.

... plus it dropped down to $40 at Gamestop, no way was I paying $60 for something I wasn't sure I would like. As it turns out though, the game is quite enjoyable, and would have been well worth the $60. (I'm glad I waited though, extra $20!)

Might have been worth waiting as I had to start over with the 120G HDD since Itagaki is a paranoid weenie and wouldn't let the copied save work.  Ah well, I had a enjoyed playing it when it came out and am doing so again, albeit a bit upset I had to start ALL over.

That sucks, cause here at some point I'm gonna get the 120G HDD, and hope the same thing doesn't happen with DOA 4.

While I haven't tried my DoA4 save yet, I'd wager good money that it too won't function properly.  Itagaki is one paranoid fellow when it comes to game saves.  I'm not about ready to start unlocking all the costumes again in that.  Alpha-152 was a meanie.

Re: Admit it

I own the game and love it.  But then again I'm a huge fan of Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden so I may be a little biased in that opinion.  I think Team Ninja is one of the best developers out there.  While I find the girls attractive, simply their looks would never persuade me to buy a $60 game, I genuinely enjoy the gameplay (especially the Wave Race wannabe game).  I think the RRXX girls look sexy but the game is stupid so I refuse to buy it.  If I really wanted to play a perverted secks (the real word is censored on these boards for some messed up reason)  game there are plenty I can find online for free.

Of course the gameplay is simple, why is this a bad thing?  Mario's gameplay is simple yet the games sell millions, does that mean it sells because we all find Mario sexy?  Every FPS is point and shoot, how is that considered deeper gameplay than DoAX2?  Look at all of the classic arcade games in the past, all VERY simple gameplay but were tons of fun.  Gimme a fun game with an interesting setting and interesting characters and I'm set.  Not everyone will find the game fun though, millions think GTA3 is fun and I think it's the most boring and repetitive pile of trash to ever grace a console.  As for the music in DoAX2 it's complete and utter trash, but that's fine because we got custom soundtracks.  I'll be blasting NIN or Cannibal Corpse anyway, everyone else can listen to the Bahamen or Hilary Duff if they want.  Chances are if you dislike DoAX2 it's simply not your style of gameplay or you do not like the settings and characters.  It's not because the gameplay sucks or because the game was halfassed.

I wouldn't call everyone who buys DoAX2 a pervert or loser without a girlfriend though.  That's like saying everyone who plays GTA is a thug or drug dealer.

Good points there, Frenetic!  I love the GTA stuff as well, but I can see how some wouldn't - but there's no reason folks can't enjoy both for what they are... good games are good games, eh?

Re: Admit it
I definitely want to add DOA Xtreme 2 to my little 360 library... and before anyone tells me I need to "get a girlfriend" I should mention that I am a happily married chick. I loved DOA XBV so much!

I wish people would just lighten up about the whole "bouncing jiggly boobs" thing.
Of course there are plenty of people who are only interested in the game for those ample (hehe) reasons, but what's the big deal? It's all about having fun and who, exactly, is being harmed by the presence of well-built female characters in bikinis besides insecure women, anyway?

Lighten up and have fun with it and rather than seeking to force those who enjoy the game into 'confessing their sins', just go play something else if this particular game bugs you so much. No offense is intended here, but I find it unfair to make it seem as though people who play this game are supposed to feel like geeky, lonely losers.
After all, there are many who would suggest that playing any video game makes us all geeky, lonely losers...

I can't say I really need to "lighten up", because it's not really a big deal of why people the game <.<

If you had mebbe read the rest of the thread, you'd know I wasn't, uhh... "forcing people to confess"...? o.O

Like I said, I just wanna know why YOU bought the game. This is a thread of honesty, not accusitions about "YOU BOUGHT IT FOR THE BOOBS" <.<

Actually, I have read the entire post and I ran across several comments that were indeed suggesting those who played the game had something to confess to...
Before taking such apparent offense to my comment along with making the assumption that I haven't read the entire topic and resulting comments, keep in mind that I was not the one who came up with the title "Admit it".

I'd also like to point out that my previous comment was not directed at anyone other than those who spend time and energy complaining about DOA games and any other games that feaure partial nudity and/or sexual content.
I expressed my opinion much the same as everyone else who posted here so what's the big deal? Indifferent [:|]

Re: Admit it

I bought the game for the same reason I buy all my videogames. A mixure of fun, play-control, and graphics. I find this game refreshing and different. It's lighter in the "depth" dept., but not every game I play needs to be about some deep social issue.

Anything a person would say about this game would apply to any other game in any other genre. It's not real, it's just pixels, and why? Because it's fun!

Re: Admit it

Try this. Go into the Gears Of War forum and say,"Why did you buy this game?" You bought it for the guns didn't you? You bought it because you like shooting things. Why don't you just confess. Why look at pixels when you can download pictures of real guns on the internet? Why not just go out and get a real,...

Yeah, sounds stupid.

And that's my point.

It's just a game and games are not about being real, they are about having fun.

I know this is way out of topic but anyway..... It's nice to see a FragDoll from the UK on the xbox forum, after some searching it look like you are the only here, this might be a nice subject for the sunday afternoon podcast you girls hardly record.

I hope to see you online someday...
