I enjoyed the Fight for NY game immensely.  During my house parties, someone would always boot it up and soon we'd all be having drunken FFNY fights.  The create a character was better.  There were a TON of great, easily recognizable faces (Young Jeezy?  Bun B? Ok...)  There were just TONS more characters to choose from.  I don't know how you go from having Ice T, Henry Rollins, Mobb Deep, etc. to a bunch of new, silly rappers who can't even hold a candle to the last batch of fighters.  The music aspect of the game is neat.  A fun gimmick.  But then that's all it is.. a gimmick.  Remove Lil Jon and place him in Def Jam: Fight for NY and you have a more complete and fun game.  If this wasn't called DEF JAM, I wouldn't be so hard on it.  But after an awesome game like Fight for NY, you have this game... blah, i'm disappointed.  It should've just been called EA: Icon.  Then I wouldn't have been duped into getting it.

Yip def icon sucks. The colouring is wack just like the kicks and punches are too slow, and wot happened to grapplin. wouldn't pay more than 20 dollas for it. game play limited. seems they rushed it. verdict is dat it crap.

Alright, well I would like to look at the other side of the coin and say that I honestly liked Def Jam Icon, because it was unique. The graphics are off the hook, and gameplay is hard, but fun once you get used to the controls. One thing I don't like is the directional moves. Using the right analog stick to attack isn't all that great. I admit that it isn't as great as FFNY, but Icon is a decent game. I think people just don't like it 'cause they can't master the controls...but that's just me.

This game, while decent, was very disappointing compared to DJ:FFNY.

And WAKE UP, Microsoft, just because Icon was a flop doesn't mean we don't want you to put backwards compatibility for Fight For New York out.

I played the demo and I'd play it if I got a good deal on it. When I was playing my friend we couldn't stop cracking up. its god damn hilarous playing as a bunch a gehtto people fighting and dancing using the emotes.

Might buy it if its cheap and new lol how is the music hahaha?

I definitely agree. I completely and utterly hate rap, but Fight for NY was worth ignoring the music for. I played it at a cousin's house and it was a great game. I downloaded the demo for Icon and it sucked = /. Wouldn't be worth a rent, let alone a purchase.

this game is so horible i borrowed it from a frien and all i can say if it was mine i would have broken it by now what happen def jam was a great game and ea screwed it up
