Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance XBL DLC

I was really counting the minutes until Tuesday, so I was disappointed.

That being said, I'd rather they hold back than to halfass it and give us DLC with problems.

At the same time, it would be nice if in the future they give us a head's up beforehand.

So, when is everyone expecting the content to be released?

Yeah I'm glad its being figured out, but what about the game saves that were damaged.  Their is no mention of that, as far as I know my saves are fine they load and everything.

I don't have an answer for Jon's question about game saves, but I wonder if Microsoft could put up a "news" section to give us the lowdown on DLC or backwards compatibility.

The delay for MUA DLC felt like getting stood up on a date.

I think I speak for everyone that everyone would've been ok with a delay if there had been a head's up before or on Tuesday.

True, but since a Mod is hard to find here, we need to kind of watch ourselves or guide others.

Agree. You can certainly speak for me.

It really stung to see the placeholders in the character select screen, and be able to get to the screen where I can buy them, but then not be able to seal the deal. I wondered for almost a day if it was just me. Now I have time to check the boards, and find I'm not alone.

It was also quite disappointing to see all my items have their properties changed. I am halfway through "hard" mode, and making all my items worthless is making the going even slower.

Dear Matthew Paul,

Please cancel the downloaded content. Think about the hilarious possibilities. We'd get to witness one of the biggest whine-riots since Tickle Me Elmos sold out during the Christmas shopping season of 1996.

I'll bring the popcorn!

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance XBL DLC

I guess I am a little slow or maybe a different voice of reason but......

If you have a release date, shouldn't the QA and the testing be done already?  I do not claim to work in the video game industry but if you have a realease date, shouldn't you be working towards it a little faster?  From what I have have heard so far, they had no chance of making the 4/10 date if the DLC is still in QA.  Also, the customer service is deplorable.  I am a loan officer and what they did is the equalivent of me telling a customer we will close on 4/10 and then 4/10 goes by and I do not call or tell them anything as to why what I said would happen hasn't happened.  I wouldn't be in business very long if I treating my clients the same way as we have been treated.

Also, it did not take a Rocket Scientist to figure out there was a problem when the DLC was not available on 4/10.  So what should have happened on 4/10, a press release.  Rarely do I look forward to DLC because I am usually done playing a game by the time they put it out but I was amped for this content.  I remeber when I was wating for the Def Jam Icon demo to put on XBL and it got delayed but there was a press release that said it would be delayed a week and they did something that should be commended now because they actually put out a press release saying it would be delayed before people jumped on line looking for the content.  Is it too much to ask that we be treated like adults?  Where they hoping we wouldn't notice?

I find it hard to believe that the 10th came and they realized, Houston, we have a problem especially if the DLC was still in QA.  The only logical conclusion is they should have stuck with the "Sometime in April release date and then we would be pleasantly surprised when it came out versus very upset that it was not out and 24 hours had to pass before someone decided to say something.  When that something was said, it was a canned response.  "We are working on it and we will get a release date in a few days".  Are you serious?  We are supposed to accept that answer.  I am disappointed but the coming DLC has caused me to go back and start playing MUA again and I am working on beating the game and unlocking Nick Fury and Silver Sufer so it hasn't been all bad.  Luckily for me, a friend of mine downloaded the AU and had his saves corrupted so when it asked me if I wanted to update now, I said no and I haven't had a problem.  Lucky for me, unlucky for him.

In the end, will it matter, no.  They know people will buy the content whenever they release it and be happy doing so.  So why should they care about the customer service aspect.  If they indeed missed the deadline because they are working out a few bugs, that is something with which I can live but I cannot accept the fact that they did not bother, did not feel it was important enough or did not care enough to say, "Hey, we are having a few problems but we will get the DLC out as soon as possible" either before or on the 10th.  I guess that would be asking them to care.  Oh well, I don't buy many if any Activsion games and this just may well cause me not to pick up any Activision games anymore.  I understand that it may not be Activsion fault but until someone steps up and takes some responsibility, I am pinning the blame on them since Activsion's name is all over MUA.  RavenSoft may be my next target depending on how long of a delay this causes.  In my opinion, do not give us a release date while the DLC is still in QA.  Hey, here is a better idea, give us a release date when the content is already released.  Then, you will not have to worry about looking like an idiot again.  No, I am not giving the developer any credit at all for coming out and giving us a comment since it was about a good day and half late.  Wouldn't it have been too much to ask to get an official statement on 4/10?  Obviously, the DLC was still in QA on 4/10 so it should have been easy to say the same thing that was said on 4/11 on 4/10.

Like I said earlier, maybe I am just slow....

I know there are some errors in this article but my computer is runing real slow and when I type on my keyboard there is a few seconds delay before the words pop on screen and it is taking too long to edit this post, plus it is late and I am going to bed.

Thanks for the post "All World" are you sure, you never work in the gaming industry? cuz, that sounded pretty accurate to the dev-cycle. Anyway, I agreed with you 100% is not about the date of the update, it's about how the handle the phuckup, still to this point no specifics have been offiicially published!

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance XBL DLC

I'm sure the developers told the higher ups that it wasn't going to be ready by the 10th but they had already got the ad campaign underway, and tried to pressure the developers into rushing it out by the 10th but as almost always the case when this happens a giant bug was found either the day before or on the morning of the 10th, and rather than say hey were having some problems but we will get it to you just as soon as were able to. They decided to attempt to skirt the issue hoping that people would not mind the delay. But when they saw all the post on diffirent message boards they decide to try to quiet fans by giving them some sort of answer not that it was a very good one mind you. But this is the way the video game industry works.

And your promise is broken!  I'm stuck in MN where there hasn't been sun for 2 weeks and we've had 2 major snowfalls in APRIL.  For some of us who are kinda stuck inside, this DLC was keeping us sane.

Not at all. Like most people with scores over 30k, most of his completions involve sports games. or easy as *** games like King Kong. he hasn't really completed that many of the 127 games he's played. Doesn't take a whole lot to gamefly a game, get the easy achievments, then send it back and repeat.

Maybe if your broke @ss could have afforded a launch 360 you would have 40k gamer score also, you are such a loser i can not even put it in to words. here are a few examples.

You sit on XBL all day calling people nerds, and threatening to beat up kids when you are 21.

You send kids voice messages all day long calling them nerds and threatening to beat them up when you are 21.

You are still Act like you are a thug in your lame voice messages, yet have a reference to Starwars in your motto.

Every time i replied to one of your lame messages no matter what time it was you replied back almost instantly, maybe you get XBL on your cell phone or something.

You are even worse than a nerd, geek, dork, or any other lame analogy you would like to use to describe gamers because you have to sit on a forum, or send voice messages threatening and demeaning fellow gamers who are for the most part under 16. Now please move on with your life and maybe seek some professional help for those self esteem issues you clearly have.
