for a game that gives you absolutly NO CLUES or HINTS on how to get around and/or find things, this guide is....is simply pure genius.

with this guide, i can honestly say, without a doubt...you've created something that's actually better than s_x.

wow.

and from the bottom of my HEART!   THANK YOU!

No offense, but if you cant play this game at all without an interactive map, then you shouldnt be playing it. I would suggest beating the game (inverted castle included) without this map to start with. Once you have beaten it, go back through and find all of the stuff if you still need the map... Just a suggestion though...

none taken, but to say i shouldnt be playing it is a streatch...

I've played these games (not castlevania specifically) since the 8/16 bit era.  and you have to admit even yourself, that there's no way anyone could of known that they should be wearing two particular type of rings, AND a pair of goggles just to make it to a specific ending.  nothing in the game hints you towards that. especially storywise. hidden rooms i can understand.  it's not that i 'cant' play the game.  it's the way the game's presented to me.

I understand what your saying, but when this game came out, i was 8. I beat it and the inverted castle. Took about a year of on/off playing to beat it, but I did it without the internet or a guide. So it is possible. Maybe you dont want to spend that much time and I understand that, but if your not 8, it shouldnt take you that long to beat it. Just my opinion. i guess it was a "streatch" to say you shouldnt be playing, but then again maybe not. Just depends on the person...

Re: Interactive Symphony of the Night Map

well in my opinion, i choose to play whatever i want, regardless of someone elses opinion.  Of course you had that year of play off and on to beat the game.  you was 8.  today im 33, with a job and other responsibilities.  i dont have that same freedom to fully explore and play it as if i was playing it for the first time back in the 80s.  im only just experiencing SOTN today.  I only caved in for one answer within the guide.  the rest of the game was all me (just starting the inverted castle).  You may not have already known that info, which i can understand would of caused you to make such a silly comment.  Hey,  im a gamer...always have been, and always will be...so yes, it is a streatch to be told what i should and shouldnt play...That said, anyone who uses strategy guides to get through a game is playing a game that way by choice.  as long as they're enjoying the game for 'themselves' then god bless their experience...regardless of the person.  No one should be told what they should or shouldnt be playing (outside of a parents concern for censorship towards their under age child) regardless of the person, what age they are compared to whatever age you was at the time, their skill level of playing that game, how long it should take them to beat a game because of their age...or any other silly nonsense such as that.

that's my opionion...but i guess that understanding, just as well depends on the person...

Re: Interactive Symphony of the Night Map
Incredible!  It's almost as nice as another I saw earlier today.  HOWEVER, this one is complete whereas that one was only the entrance of the castle.  It was rendered so that it looked just like the game screen, the only problem was that it is an image and an incomplete one at that.  The size of the image would be almost too big to effectively use by the time this guy gets done with it.

Great job and thanks!!

One small note on the Inverted Castle Map.  Cell AX:42 and Cell AY:42.  There is a black line between these two cells indicating that you cannot pass from one room to the other but this is not the case.  As per his instructions I emailed Zorkwiz79 and let him know of this MINOR detail.  He thanked me and told me that he'd updated it on his working copy of it.  I only tell everyone this so they'll know that there me an update forthcoming some time in the future.

Normally I wouldn't nit-pick such a minor detail but he asked to be notified if anything was found.  This kind of attention to detail and his interactive map will be flawless.  I can appreciate him wanting it to be perfect.

Thanks Higgy,
I got your e-mail too and it will be fixed in the next version, whenever I find enough fixes to warrant one.   I appreciate your comments guys.  Artemis, it amazes me how you feel compelled to respond to literally every post on this board. ;)  Maybe time for a new hobby? lol

Not every post, just ones I can help with... I get on here while I'm waiting for dinner to cook and things like that. Especially now that I broke my sternum(Just got back from the doctor 10 minutes ago) and so I like to help out. I have too many hobbies if you ask me...
