Help with first car design - how to make it more interesting?

Hey guys, i decided to venture into car design last night for a bit of fun, never done it before and didn't have F1, so do bear that in mind, it's not brilliant -

http://www.simonkilmore.co.uk/car.jpg

It's obvious from the picture what the theme of the car is, i just need some help and ideas of how to make it better? I know i need to adjust the lettering font, i just stuck the text on quickly after i spend about 1hr30 on the smiley face, which still needs work i think. This is the source - http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h155/metyl_1986/nirvana_logo.gif

So what do people think i could do with the car to add to it, make it a bit more interesting, based on the theme?

Thanks

Custom Designs on other cars in your garage
I hope someone could help me.

I am having trouble putting a design i have made on more than 1 car without having to do it from scratch each time.
Can I and if so how put the same design on all my cars in my garage.

At the moment I save a design in the catalogue but do not know how to put it on a different car, when I select a different car it says I have no designs.
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks

Re: Custom Designs on other cars in your garage

You can't put an entire paintjob on a different model car.  Think about it....that would be like trying to put a square post into a round hole.

If you want to do that, you'll need to save each side of the car (or at least the major parts) as Vinyl Groups.  Those, you can apply to anything.

Regarding Stamps
Hey everyone.  i did a search for stamps and didnt find what i was looking for.   I was wondering about the stamp feature that people have talked about.  is it the same thing as vinyll groups?   if not, where do i click in order to turn a group of vinylls into a stamp?

Re: Regarding Stamps

I believe all that "stamp" is, is to make place paticular "vinyl" in place and at the same time make an exact dupicate of the vinyl to put someplace else.  This helps to speed up process of building a little bit.

There is a way to "save vinyl group" which is what you're talking about, i believe.

Re: Regarding Stamps
You stamp in the editor by pressing the Y button. Stamping just duplicates the current selected vinyl over and over again until you're finished making enough copies of it. Linking several vinyls together first, then pressing A or start to then Save as a vinyl group will essentially make all of those different vinyl layers form a single "vinyl group" for you to label and save for future use. Loading said vinyl group will produce that group instantly to any specified area of the car you choose, whether it be the current vehicle or another one all together.

Re: Regarding Stamps
Stamp is basically a "copy & paste" function for the current layer you're working with. So if you have a square layer and you press "Y" to stamp it you'll basically just create an exact copy of that square you were using. Then if you move it, notice how the original square is still there? Simple as that.

Vinyl Groups are a saved group of layers that can be called up at anytime.
