Another 360 to add to this growing list of "no video but i have video." About 10 days ago (6/18 maybe) red and green screen flickers showed up during COD3 with no prior problems whatsoever in the past 14 months (yes, you're right, the warranty just expired in April)...about a week later no video at all, but audio is just fine. Called 1-800-4MY-XBOX. The rep was somewhat reluctant to admit it was a problem with the console and encouraged me repeatedly to buy, borrow or steal (maybe not steal) new a/v cables. Tried new cables on the standard TV setting as suggested and there was no change.
As others have mentioned, I agree there are far too many cases for this to be a coincidence and is a direct result of hardware design flaw inherent with the product. I'm now half expecting MS to step up like a responsible corporate citizen to resolve this at no expense to the consumer, but reality tells me to be ready to part with $139.90. Maybe I'll hold off until September for a minor title being released around then. In the meantime, I can save a few bucks by cancelling Live and apply it to the repair.
