Re: **WARNING-Game Haulting Glitch*** Brewery

I have found another annoying bug that needs patching.

When finding the 10 servants for your tower i found one in particular that could not be taken to the portal by my minons. It got stuck by a tree around the corner from the portal (coming from the farm to the portal) My minions stopped and would not continue. I recalled them back so that she could stand up after flailing on the floor - but she wouldnt get up!

Then i sent my minions back and they still couldnt move her. This annoying little bug is the only problem i have had with the game - other than the lack of people playing on XBL!!

Did you try locking on with LT and sweeping the servant around the tree?

Re: **WARNING-Game Haulting Glitch*** Brewery NEWS

This was posted today on codemasters forum in response to Jack26's online petition (found earlier in this thread), and to address all of us effected by this glitch.......

Message from the Overlord team:

Hi all, we completely understand your point of view regarding the Xbox 360 situation, but we’d rather you simply contact us directly via the email form on http://www.codemasters.com/support/contact.php, rather than voicing any concerns on an anonymous petition website that can be lost in the noise of the internet.

We always prefer to be in direct contact with gamers throughout the patching process because then we can ensure we know how many people are experiencing particular issues and attempt to resolve as many as possible.

To help address the comments made on the petition and as explained to some extent previously, the Xbox 360 patch/fix is being worked on at the moment and the reason it is happening on a different timescale to the PC fix is simply because different platforms require different processes.

PC patching is quite easy to make (and very easy to release) in comparison to Xbox 360 patches, hence why the PC game has received two patches so far. Releasing fixes for Xbox 360 isn't as simple a process. This leads to us doing a comprehensive update, rather than several little ones. That's not an excuse but part of the reason for any delay.

If Jack26 wants to get in touch via PM and ping me his phone number we'll be happy to give him a call, apologise and discuss this matter further, in the hope that it helps clarify the situation. And as a sidenote, if he's ever in England in the future we'd be happy to invite him to Codemasters to look around the studios so he can see the processes in action - it's a lot more involved then most people think.

I'll try and provide updates as soon as concrete news comes out of the development team, but for now, from my own point of view as moderator, please remain calm and try not to engage in any petty arguments over differences of opinion on this forum. We hope to regain your trust very soon and we're working hard on doing this right now. Thanks.

Re: **WARNING-Game Haulting Glitch*** Brewery NEWS

An apology!? EFFING SWEET. That's what will fix the game.

And silencing the guy who made the petition by inviting him to the game studio? Very classy.

Until then... they'll... keep telling us the same *** thing?

I'm satisfied. >_> Anyone else?

What would a petition do, anyway? They ARE the makers of the game, right? So, wouldn't that mean that they're the only ones who can release patches for it? So, the petition is just another way to hope to get them moving faster, right? I really don't know how all this stuff works, but doesn't a petition only work when you have more than one option?

I got hit with this glitch as well.  Unfortunately, well hoping to get a patch out soon or something.  Giving out new copies of the game with the glitch fixed, to owners of the game would be nice as well.

What is aggravating about this glitch is that it has been almost two weeks since Codemasters made any kind of announcement about a patch to fix it on the 360 but has released TWO patches for the PC version.

hey, us cc3 fans are screwed over more, the pc in that game has like 7 patches, and the 360 has 0.

Let's give Codemasters a break, geezus H.  It's not just Codemasters' fault.  They have to identify the problem, fix it and then go through Microsoft's certification process, which everyone should know, is a very long process.  A fix is coming, be patient, go play Madden 08 or the Bioshock demo, but above all, relax, life goes on.

At this point, the majority of my anger is directed at Microsofts certification process. What the *** is the point of it, if it doesnt catch stuff like this? Frankly if codemasters wasn't done bug testing, they shouldn't have released the game. Maybe the fact that a game like Tenchu Z (which is fun but got 4 and 5/10 ratings) has outsold this game every month since release will make them realize that in the future.

Re: **WARNING-Game Haulting Glitch*** Brewery
Latest update, as of yesterday, from Codemasters:

A Friday afternoon update for Xbox 360 users affected by the Brewery Issue:

Many thanks for your continued patience in waiting for the Xbox 360 update, to include a fix for the Brewery Issue.

I’ve been reliably informed that we expect this update will be available within the next four weeks. We'll be able to confirm a live date once the code is approved, projected to be early next month.

If the timescale for this is amended (for whatever reason) I'll let you know straight away, although at present any further hold-up seems unlikely.

Again, Codemasters is very sorry to those of you who have been waiting for this update.

At this point, I just don't care.  I doubt I'll ever buy another game from this company.

I agree 4 more weeks with no patch how many months is that 2 or 3???   I have bought other games, sports and otherwise that had patches fixing bugs in a couple weeks after the releas and it was nothing to hault the game.  Hmm so in 4 weeks, what will be coming out in 4 weeks that migh consume all my time, oh yeah a little game called Halo three.

To the trade in bin with this hunk of junk.

That will have it at just over the 2 month mark.  I understand that there are delays in the Microsoft approval process but I have a hard time believing that is the only reason it's taking this long.  How many games have we bought for the 360 that downloads some kind of update the first time you try to play it?  Didn't seem to take that developer this long to fix something.  Even the patch to fix the Marvel: UA glitch with the new characters didn't take this long.

As a consumer and gamer who admittedly has no experience in game design, I perceive this entire situation as incompetence on the part of Codemasters.  I may be wrong about that (and probably am), but, as I've already said, I will not waste any more money on any further Codemasters' product.  The only reason I'm still waiting for this patch is because I hate to stop playing a game before I finish the story.

It's very disheartening because it was a fun game.

You can get the health object over the bridge, you just have to keep trying. It's like there is an invisible wall there, but you can sqwirm past it. There are lots of places in the game where yoiur minions will get stuck carrying things actually, but you can get past them.

If you couldn't then I and many others could not have gotten the Tower Master acheivement or whatever its called for getting all objects back to the Tower.

I've grown tired of this.  This entire bug situation has become a joke.  I don't buy that the reason for this huge delay resides solely with MS's certification process.  The fact this bug got past their QA and their response time is so slow is enough to keep me away.

I'm gonna trade this in tomorrow towards a copy of Bioshock and that will officially end my patronage of Codemasters games.

Re: **WARNING-Game Haulting Glitch*** Brewery

Well I wish I would have read this thread before playing the game but I just don't expect to find game halting glitches.

Needles to say I was upset, but got over it and decided I would try to turn a negative into a positive. I always wanted to be a game developer and it looks like I might have found the place for me. Below is my cover letter of my job application to Codemasters:

"I am a programmer, but not a very good one. I would be a perfect fit to work on a crappy game like Overlord. My code is riddled with bugs, some even worse than the Brewery Bug in Overlord (just kidding none of my code is that much crap). I might also be a good fit for your QA department. I am particularly good at surfing porn sites rather than actually testing a game for bugs. Or perhaps even upper Management so when we actually put out a game and find a serious bug, I am perfect at saying *** you chump I already have your money. It looks like I am a perfect fit for codemasters, I look forward to hearing from you."

Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Thanks for your patience while we've developed, tested and submitted the fixes and we hope you can get back to enjoying Overlord.
