It could have something to do with the full sized keyboard being all the way over there wired into the PC e, and not fitting ono the coffee table with the remotes, the game controllers, and the coffee...
Perhaps your regular keyboard doesn't have backlit keys, for use in a darkened room...
Maybe your hands aren't big enough to hold both the game controller and a full-size keyboard at the same time...
No, the real answer is "The same reasons that the Xbox360 needs a chatpad, when it already can ha/.ve a full sized keyboard"
The hardware development has already been done, and the end result looks very good.
The headset that comes with the Chatpad (and PLUGS INTO THE CHATPAD!) works,
THe batteries and rechargeable battery packs for the controller work on both the 360 and the PC.
The charge cable works on both the 360 and the PC.
The only thing that isn't working are the keys on the chatpad.
I don't know about you, but I bought the controller with the receiver for PC use as a package deal. One box with both, and I believed the part where it said it would work with my PC. I bought the charge cable and battery pack for PC use, without having to think, "Hey, will this work with the hardware I already have?" I bought the Messenger Kit thinking "Wow, that investment in the controller is really paying off, I'm getting all sorts of great additions that make my media centre PC much more useful, entertaining, and fun"
The fun ended when the keys didn't work. And they didn't work on the second, third, and fourth ones, either. Why does everything else work when the keys don't?
This seems like the only place where there's even the slightest hope that someone from the Mother Ship might take notice of the please of the lowly customer and do the right thing. If they can make the hardware, surely MicroSOFT can make the SOFTware.I It's almost their middle name!
