Re: A full guide and FAQ to AC6

Does anybody know how you get the "Ground Defense" achievement?  Everytime I call in support it comes from the air and never from ground forces.

Is there a special way to get it or is it just a matter of time?

...wow, been so long since I got that one I forgot. I think the first few missions where all you have are ground assets and Garuda 2 for support. Use the allied attack as much as possible on the airfeild capture missions where you fly in support of ground troops. Gracemeria liberation mission is a good one to try also.

Re: A full guide and FAQ to AC6
I am beginning work on the final (hopefully final) version of this guide. The next one will not have too much more, but it will have some serious edits, updates, and a few new things thrown in. After a few months, some things have changed, or have been brought to my attention, that are not fully covered here, so I would like to complete it, totally. I hope to finish it within 2 weeks, max.

How about, for the section on completing your online achievements, in particular saving after every match, maybe you should change the font for that part to red and possibly to CAPITALS. Lol ... Never ending questions about that on the forum.

Re: A full guide and FAQ to AC6

Quick question for whomever:  How do you get the last entry for the Allied Assault Record?  It looks like a patch next to "Garuda 2".  I guess it would be #45.  Thanks.

Re: A full guide and FAQ to AC6
You earn the last allied assault record by completing the enemy assault records. When you get all of them, the last Allied record will unlock too.

Re: sharpshooter looking impossible

Question #1. So in order to get the "All Colors" achievement I have to Download them?

Question #2. Can anyone help with the "All Secrets" achievement?

Re: sharpshooter looking impossible

1: No, you dont have to download anything. Downloaded planes will have no effect on any achievement at all, especially in SP. Basically, you have to unlock all plane colors, which means attaining purchasing ability for them only. You do not have to buy them, just need to be able to buy them.

2: As stated in the other thread, Its completing everything in SP; Medals, assault records, all colors, etc.

Re: sharpshooter looking impossible
I've been thinking about maybe putting up a dogfighting strategy guide...I did sort of a similar thing with Over-G Fighters back in the day.

Good guide, by the way. Now I know where to get those last two named aircraft.

Guardian Medal & Mission 9/15

I've found that the Guardian Medal can be unlocked even if your wingman takes a hit, just so long as he doesn't crash/get shot down. That should save some frustration, as the guide states that he can't take a single hit. He can.

Also, for dealing with Strigons (Missions where the entire squad is after you), simply call Allied Cover. This is especially effective during Missions 9/15, where your allies are all there and all focused on you. It gives you time to take down the cruiser/cooling units without too much evading. Also, for Mission 9, XMA6s are effective on the targets. No need for the RCL, as you can simply lob 6 missles at once at 'em. It works wonders on the engines and doesn't require you to steady your aim.

I'd like to point out that you don't have to do a SP New Game to get the Raging Falcon (use only Fighters) medal. I got it in my very first playthrough of the game. If you want to test this, just start an empty file and only use fighters through the campaign.
