Just got RV6 2 this morning, so will play it tonight.  The question I'm currently asking myself is whether I can be bothered to do the 'workaround' for PFC achievement, or will I just want to get on with the game and wait for the patch.

Think I'll probably just wait for the patch.

I guess it depends on if you would care about having an "Officer" achievement before your "Private" achievement. Personally, I am particular about those kind of things. I'm going to try and complete the campaign without hitting officer and then wait for a patch.

Same here.

I can confirm that this does not work.

I blew myself up enough times with grenades and my XP went back to 0.  I still kept my rank.  Still no achievment.

Freedom Shall Prevail: I did this but didnt get the achievement. When I looked back it said that I had not completed Monorail on Realistic when infact I had. Try this level again on realistic and it may fix this glitch. Worked for me :) Although I'm not sure if this is a propper solution to the glitch at all.

I have never had an issue like this before. How does it work when they release the patch? Do you automatically get the achievement when you load your game(if you are beyong PFC)?  Or is it lost foever to anyone who has passed that rank?

I worry that it might be lost forever.  Depends how easy it is for the achievement to realise it is past the trigger point.

Ubisoft are pretty useless at fixing bugs, so I won't keep my fingers crossed for a patch anytime soon.

I doubt that. It should unlock immediately upon the update patch.

You *may* have to recover your gamertag, but I'm hoping not.

I've got the same issue as this ^^.

For those not getting the "Freedom Shall Prevail", after you beat it on realistic, just join a co-op game over live and finish a level, any level.  Then it will unlock.

Wait, now I have a question about this:

 

I played Rainbow Six Vegas, and was an Elite in it when I finished.

Will the PFC workaround still work for me if I try to play, or will the moment I load up RSV2 I get my Former Elite reward and skip past it, therefore *** me?

 

And to make the PFC workabround work, I have to load RSV2 on a non-vegas-played account, then go to split screen TH, and make player 2 my normal account right?

and i saw something mentioned above about being an officer be4 finishing the campaign, does tht have any effect on the realistic campaign achievement

Wouldnt the pfc unlock on the second (first) account and not your main? After all, your main is still warrant officer or whatever, he's just joining a privates split screen game.

I had the same problem with this achievement not showing up in the vegas achievement menu in game, however last night I started a new game on realistic and me and a friend played all the way through with me hosting and all boxes were checked for realistic but no achievement. Then I took the suggestion of another poster on these boards and had my friend host a game and I as second player played through the first level negotiations and bam realistic achievement unlocked, and the ribbon showed up as well. However my friend did not get the realistic cheevo when we replayed it again as me hosting the 1st level.

I'm currently at 1 yellow bar and will try this fix to get the Private First Class but not sure it will work at this level. 

As for the Freedom Shall Prevail Achievement, this worked however I did run into a slight problem.  I started the game on my own machine at realistic and played a portion.  I then joined and started over on co-op with another person on realistic.  When we finished he got the achievement and I didn't.  I found also prior when going back to play the game by myself that the level we reached on his story was not carried over to my story and I was always where I was at my last checkpoint.  Knowing what to expect and sending the "meat puppets" ahead, finishing the game was a breeze (too easy) and once completed the achievement came up just fine.  You would have thought the achievement would have worked playing his story as the other achievement for finishing sections plus getting game points for othe achievements such as shooting from the ropes or 5 consecutive kills in a row with a silenced gun worked just fine.

The nice thing of doing both of our stories was we both then ended up getting all of the points for being Bishops partner.  Then with two stories under my belt it was on to complete all of the ACES which were almost done and then finish the T-Hunts on realistic.  Now with all of those complete I'm at a point to just get the achievements for playing online in adversarial games.

This isnt a major issue but im getting sick of the search criteria reseting itself after i leave a game. I only do teamleader (coz it's fun) but everytime i leave a crappy game it says "Finding matches with similar ranks and good connectivity based on you SEARCH CRITERIA."

Yup, same problem here too.

I have found another glitch with a different achievement.

It is with the "Rapel King" achievement. You unlock it after getting 25 kills from a Rapel rope (in single or multiplayer).

I have gotten over 50 kills while hanging from a rapel and not gotten the achievement. On one occasion while I was purposefully trying to unlock this achievement, I was playing on the first scene of the Convention Center level. The only kills I got were ones while hanging upside down from the rapel with a Desert Eagle and shooting enemies. Once they were all cleared out of the room, I reverted to the last checkpoint to get more kills.

When I went to check to see how many kills I needed, I already had 29 kills from the rope. That alone should have unlocked the achievement, let-alone the fact that I had easily at least another 20-25 kills from other campaign missions, Terrorist Hunt, and multiplayer.

Is anyone else having this problem?
