how many super bowls have the chargers brought home?

lets see the niners have brought back 5, and going to be first to 6

Go Niners! No where to go but up!  We might be on a bad slide, but at least we can say 5 for 5.

i dont understand this. If players want to be on a great and succeseful team, why dont they just play for a lower pay. i mean if they really want a superbowl they could just play for 2 mil a year and a team like the niners could have 10 star players. i thought of this when i was baked one day so please no flaming.

this is how i look at the upcoming season and the future for this team , im a 30 year plus fan which means ive been there for all 5 super bowls ive been there threw the joe montana era and the steve young era and unfortantly ive been here for the tim rattay/ken dorsey/alsex smith/trent dilfer/shaun hill era and this is it ive defended alex smith to all my freinds and the internet world for too long ive finally come to the conclusion that he will not succeed at least not with this team i hate to label him a bust but from what ive seen he sure seems like one as for the shaun hill fans i dont exspect much outta him either all the shaun hill hype came when he was put in to replace trent dilfer and after watching trent dilfer ANY qb that would have been put in would have looked better and seem like a breath of fresh air, and JT sullivan is a joke the only thing he has going for himself is he knows Mike Martz offense...

Im probably one of the most die hard 49ers fans you will ever meet and i always will be and i strongly believe we are almost there on defense the linebackers are beast spikes/willis/lawson/thomas/ulbrich/banta-cain i think our secondary is solid hopefully Dashon Goldson starts at free safty over Roman (fingers crossed) the defensive line is unproven but i like the addition of Justin Smith hopefully we can get pressure on the QB's , on Offense our running game is awesome with frank gore and deshaun foster carring the ball , our recievers are solid , oline is just ok but unproven but the fact remains Alex Smith/Shaun Hill and JT o'Sullivan are not the answer IMO! until we get a solid QB we are still a 5-11 / 6-10 team which pisse's me off.

I hold a grudge to Coach Nolan for wasting our # 1 draft pick on that peice of crap QB, if you can even call him a QB. We could have had Aaron Rodgers which would have put our team in playoff seasons

actually he was forced to give up the team by the nfl because of some deals he made in louisiana involving casinos and the governor.

Even though we were in salary cap ***, we still actually won games. And knew how to draft players. We would not be paying smith close to $10 mil.

Actually the league changed a lot of perks to reflect on the slary cap due to the way Debartlo ran the Niners.

I am a die hard niners fan.Been one since ever,Alex smith will not be around much longer,Nolan will be gone at seasons end.He was a great D coach with the ravens unless martz O steps up nolan will be out.The defense looks great willis will have a huge year.Smith and nolans job future rest on Martz and his ability to get the offense getting points which he is capable of but with the tools he has got it may not happen.

No. Carmen Policy (Spelling) was the GM for two years. Ed D had nothing to do with them.

At least he's not as bad as Ryan Leaf or Tony Mandarich, right?  But anyway I love the niners.  Always have and always will.  The very first football game I saw on televisioin, I watched Joe Montana carve up the Rams.  I must say, last season I was disappointed.  The defense is great, but can only do so much when they're on the field so often because the offense goes 3 and out.  I say either commit to Alex Smith and stop changing the offense on him or get a new QB and commit to him, because until we do so, all the Vernon Davis's in the world won't help out our team.

You fail at Jeapordy.  Alex Smith still has a shot in the NFL.  He might develop into a quality backup.

The correct answer is:  Who are Ryan Leaf and Rick Mirer.

i say we focus on smith. he is only 24 now, give hime 3 or 4 years and he will be a well rounded QB. perhaps rated a 83 or 84. he needs to work on awareness and second choice throw. he's got the skill but not the mind set for the NFL right now.

No offense to anyone here, but it get pretty bad when we talk about a player and use his game rating to show how good or bad he is in real life.

its only a rough example. the fact is he has no awareness for the NFL and needs to learn second choice throwing and learning to make a bad play into a great one - whats the word for that lol?

Gotta put my signature on this post. Go Niners! Hey, we need a QB. Not to rag on Smith, but he's not cutting the mustard and he looks really timid on the field. It's like you don't know what to expect from him on Sundays. I think if the guy was a bit more consistent with his performance we'd have a better chance at winning a few more games this season.

Whatever happens...I'm still a Niner fan and always will be. My wife has given me crap every season for the past 4 years, since she's a Steeler fan. I don't know if I can take that beating from her this season...so I'm hoping the Niners come out and put up some decent numbers this season.

Cheers Niner fans!

JT O'Sullivan isn't horrible. I'd take him over Shaun Hill in a heartbeat. He's my pick for the starter. Heck, I'd have started him over Kitna in Detroit.

But I love how the only people who know JT O'Sullivan exists are the guy who is reporting on the 49ers on Sportscenter and Lions fans.

There's no way Id rather have JT over Kitna anyday. Kitna is alot better then JT. There is a reason this guy has bounced around the league...................because he is not good!!!!!!!! Ive watched him in practice and in the game when he came in for Kitna (vs minnesota) he is bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I've seen him play 3 times. By what I've seen, I was impressed. He wasn't great, but how would a guy who never gets PT be? He made some throws that when Kitna tries it, the ball is in a DB's hands.
