Re: A Beginner's Guide to the Capture Card.

What about the Pinnacle card that uses a USB drive to transfer the info?

Is it similar?

Duct tape - unbreakable bond.
WD40 - unstoppable force.

Duct tape + WD40 = CHUCK NORRIS!!!!

Recording wise...no. In fact, it would be a LOT easier because you would not need the cables and such.

Put your splitters in the TV.
Connect your Xbox A/V cords into them.
Connect the composite cable to the splitters and the dazzle itself.

Can you take a picture of your set-up for me?

When you record a video, it will be put in your videos.
Labeled  "VIDEO_TS".

YouTube accepts a wide range of video file formats such as .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG transferred from most digital cameras, camcorders, and cell phones.

Is there anyway to make my tv look better when I play? It looks worse then sd and I can't see people well.

lol i was asking macho saturn

but i did a test clip and put it up on youtube, looks real good in high quality

link if your interested

the quality of mine (the new white dazzle replacing the older red one) i would say is almost just as good as the silver dazzle , and way better then the red one

got like an hour left of filming to do that will add up to about 8 hours, then ima prolly spend around the same amount of time editing

Re: A Beginner's Guide to the Capture Card.

To get better quality out of your dazzle use the s-video cable. Plug the S-type into the dazzle and the RCA cables into TV. no need for splitters and better quality

Here is my first editing attemp may take awhile to load big file good quality. uploading the 2nd in a few hours Geeked [8-|]

nice write up Decode Big Smile [:D]Yes [Y]

Yeah it said it was too small to upload to youtube... It was a cod4 game. So it was obviously less then 10 minutes long.

Re: A Beginner's Guide to the Capture Card.
For the UK, you need a Capture card that supports PAL 60. Dazzle does NOT support it. Only PAL 50 and NTSC (N.America format)

Re: A Beginner's Guide to the Capture Card.

also just wanted to say

you can get the RCA "Y" splitters at home depot, but couldnt find them at Walmart

they were about $3

Dazzle DVC-101 Capture Card - $50

Double Sided RCA Cables - $20

RCA Y Splitters - $9

Spending 20 hours making a 10 minute video - Priceless

Re: A Beginner's Guide to the Capture Card.

wait

it wasnt home depot it was Lowes, theyre both hardware stores though, im sure Home Depot has them too thoug, i remember buying some coax cables there once

i could make a commercial with halo! the capture card will be a bomb from Assault, and make a counter like at best buy, and just have the cashier hand it to the customer, then show him buying some cables and splitters, then show him at a computer and do a like really fast forward time lapse thats supposed to be around 20 hours, and have him like looking back and forth between the TV and the PC, and i need to find a way to have him eating hot pockets and cup of noodles. lol

Re: A Beginner's Guide to the Capture Card.

depends on format you render it as I know WMF and AVI do offer high quality.  Quality also depends on on how you got it rigged like I said eariler get the s-video cord for 360 will improve it alot. also watch out for the load you put on your PC while captureing the less strain you put on it the less frames it misses. So turn off all program you don't need.

once you do get the quality high enough for the option to appear while linking to in forums and such if you add "&fmt=18" at the end of a youtube address it put it in HD for them. Or just get a better video host youtube compresses everything even more after they get it

example:regular http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55gw6YBjNM4

             high quality http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55gw6YBjNM4&fmt=18

             better host http://www.myffowvideos.com/play.php?vid=134

^ another shameless plug of my new vid just uploaded today^

if you click the better host your help me win a contest *hint, hint Wink [;)] Wink [;)]*

Re: A Beginner's Guide to the Capture Card.
What is the size of the video you uploaded to these sites? It looks like both of them are scaling or stretching to some degree. When I grab the FLV from the last link, it is 400x304 (basically 4:3) but it is being shown at 640x400, which is a 16:10 ratio. The youtube ones look even weirder, with letterboxing, because the source mp4 is 480x320 or 16:10 also.

I upload 480x320 in WMV format. It also might depend on your computer moniter. It will vary depending on 4x3 or 16x9.
