I got my copy today. Got this and WSC2007 for £7 delivered 2nd hand. Finding it ok at the moment, nowhere near as bad as some people have suggested.

You need to realize that games like this are geared towards a difference audiance and just because you hold so much contempt towards this title you had no reason to start a topic just so you could bash every post where a person is in disagreement with you.

I don't like this game BECAUSE it's crap.
 I assume you mean that this game is geared towards children, which ofcourse it is. BUT, that doesn't mean that it gets a free pass from critique. This game wouldn't be acceptable 5 years ago, never mind now. There are plenty of quality games geared towards kids out there, but this isn't one of em.

If you seriously believe that the developers put their best effort into this game, and didn't just do the absolute minimum, toss some lowly sega characters in, and watch the money roll in, then you're an idiot.

Games for kids are simplistic. Simplistic doesn't = terrible.
 
This game is simplistic, yet also terrible. I would not let any kid over the age of 4-5 anywhere near this piece of garbage. I could point out games 2-3 generations ago geared towards kids that blow this filth out of the water.

Nice post Hustletron and yes Revolution, I have played those mini-games and I quite enjoyed them. Thank you for pointing that out Revolution.

The forums are for the debating of games and for helpful tips etc. You can't have a debate if you only have one side of the argument. People have as much right to say they don't like the game as much as people who say they do like the game.

Bollocks. This game is good, light-hearted, fun. The tennis matches are enjoyable, the characters are pretty equally balanced, and anyone that doesn't enjoy playing with their childhood favourites (wait, you did have a Megadrive/Genesis, didn't you?) has got to have serious issues with nostalgia. If you don't enjoy it, I'd suggest you lighten up a bit, take it for what it is, and not expect an amazing tennis simulator that trumps Top Spin and Virtua Tennis combined.

   I can't stop talking about it on the internet? Really? I post once every few weeks/months in this thread. This thread would be long dead if people didn't continue to post here, either agreeing with my opinion, or disagreeing, because they're blinding by sega/sonic fanboyism and/or a simplistic idiot. Also, I haven't played this game since around the time of my creation of this thread.

   I'm stating MY opinion in a childish way?? I've backed up my argument for why this game is bad by citing many different parts of the game. The posters at the other end of the spectrum, who claim this is the best tennis game around, give no intelligent support as to why that is. 
   I have no problem with the people who pass this game off as a bit of fun for 5$, or those who recognize its flaws but enjoy it anyway; only those who claim it's great but can't give a single non-fanboy-clouded response as to why.

This thread has been surprising. I expected there'd be quite a few posters who disagree with me, yet can't support their opinion; but I didn't realize there would be so many who believe negative opinions should not be voiced. This isn't communist North Korea. Negative view points are just as valid, and maybe even more vital than praise. I also understand that the audience for this game is mostly children, hence most of the people posting in this thread are also children, and unable to have an intelligent discussion.

I grew up playing a lot of Sega games (Sonic, ChuChu-Rocket, Virtua Cop, just to name a few) and seeing all of characters together in a single game was great, in my opinion. Some of mini-games gave me a good memory of what I used to play a lot when I was young. Especially Virtua Cop (VC) on Saturn. I had Saturn for a while and, unfortunately, I sold it long ago. I was hoping maybe Sega will be able to bring VC series back on Xbox 360 Arcade Live (with some sweet achievements I might add!). Overall, I've enjoyed this game pretty much and I'm looking forward to the new Racing game with all Superstars in it again (early 2010).

Totally agree. Pretty bad. I don't don't like tennis and I don't like Sonic so Tennis+Sonic=Really crappy game. I nominate it for the worst game ever.=p

Yeah, sure. The GAME doesn't suck, it's the players. Tell you what, when you pull your fanboy head out of your quantum singularity and actually get to take a look at this piece of ***, let us know. All one has to do to find out how absolutely FUBAR this game is, is to play against an AI Alex Kidd. You can clearly tell he was favored during development. If you can't even admit that as truth, then there is no point in anybody talking to you about this game.
