i've asked this in lots of threads...
can you upload some slipknot into lips and sing all the lyrics?

Add some Red Hot Chili's...i don't like the band but they are fun to sing to

HOW can you not like the peppers?!

As i stated before... anything by the peppers and i would be happy.

Foo fighters, Weezer, Radiohead would be good additions.

And if we are on the subject on hard to sing lyrics, why not some good old fashioned death-metal? I tried to upload some dethc0k and failed haha.

You like that band? the Deth one?

Yep, I do... I was introduced to death metal by my brother. But dethklok is different, namely cause its so over the top and actually very funny.

Guitar Hero 3 (off topic) brought me to rock and some metal
I found out metal later on my own watching Headbangers Ball(TM) on MTV(TM)
and learned deathmetal and hard metal,blackmetal and all that hardcore stuff by my friend Jordan and GF Ingrid...
but w.e your name is..look above at the name...i changed it to Dethc0k if you havn't noticed so that means you like Dethc0k..lol
but that band is hardcore and awesome

Out of all the karaoke junkies in here I did not see anyone ask for one of the most popular songs in the karaoke nation:
Journey - Don't Stop Believing

But I might be showing my age but I would also like to see the following tracks soon:

The Doors - Back Door Man, Light My Fire, LA Woman,

Rolling Stones - any track

Blink 182 - All the small things, Dammit

Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody

Billy Idol - White Wedding, Mony, Mony, Dancing with myself, Rebel Yell

Tom Jones - She’s a Lady

Michael Jackson - Old School Jackson…Billie Jean, Beat it, etc…

Re: Most Wanted Songs in Lips
Agreed! They picked my least favorite Depeche song. Boring and repetitive. Have "People are People" at least, or "Shake the Disease", "It's No Good", or "Precious"

Here's an idea: why not sniff our Xbox's for what songs from our collections we're adding (with no lyrics) and use that data to decide what tracks to offer for sale? I know, the artist / label has to be willing, but it would at least provide a priority list...

Here's my wishes though, from an obvious 80's child:
- anything from Erasure (except Chains of Love or A Little Respect... yawn...)
- Alphaville "Forever Young"
- Live "Lightning Crashes"
- Peter Gabriel "Solisbury Hill"
- anything from Howard Jones
- Morrissey "Everyday is Like Sunday"
- Human League "Human"
- U2 "Pride", Beautiful Day, or With/Without You
- Proclaimers "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" - now that would be a hoot!
- English Beat "Mirror in the Bathroom" (just because it's my kids' favorite)
- Tears for Fears "Everybody Wants..."

Re: Most Wanted Songs in Lips
This thread is all well and good, but surely the 'vote for content' thing that submits when you add mp3 content is doing this job?

Anyone have any info on just how that works, or whether we can see on the web what songs are getting voted for.

It all seems a little too opaque to be useful.

For my two pennies worth, I'm hoisting a flag for R.E.M., The Decemberists, and Elbow for me; and some t-rex, Abba, Beatles, and general Disco for parties... and 'Come on Eileen' by Dexy's!!!

Oh, and 'This Charming Man' by The Smiths (although Singstar has that already: liscensing issue)

but really folks; this is a party game: there's no point trying to out-unlistenable each other with (justly) obscure metal bands. Just because most karaoke songs are rubbish, it doesn't mean they're not FUN TO SING, FOR A WIDE AUDIENCE: the point of the exercise after all!

freddy fender, dolly parton, kenny rogers, johnny cash, willie nelson, tanya tucker, lynn anderson, hank williams, etc....
and a texas tornados would be incredible, no song of them in any karaoke disc.

Oh, and some early/mid period Blur (For Tomorrow, Girls and Boys);
...and People Help The People by Cherry Ghost
and a load more Motown
and some Eels ('Goddam Right it's a beautiful day UHUH')
and Arctic Monkeys
(I see it gets quite addictive, this)

... and we need a proper seperate mode for songs which are meant as duets would be good - singing both parts in 'Young Folks' is just weird. Perhaps Lips2 needs prompt release, cos there is too much updating needed for a download?!

Re: Most Wanted Songs in Lips
Great Topic, and one that will prompt much discussion, I agree with a lot of people who have replied and surprised bands like Guns N Roses, Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson, Bryan Adams, Pink etc haven't made it, I can only assume the licensing for these artists is a legal nightmare (maybe Black Stone Cherry and Tesla would be my personal favourites, but I understand they are not household names).

The point I'd like to make is, this game would go "orbital" if there was a PC "add on" where you could add you own lyrics to your favourite songs and set note and tone duration etc, a bit like a level editor some games have. The lyric file could reside in the same directory as the mp3, bang, everyone does their favourite songs, we all share our work and Microsoft don't skin you for 160 -180 points everytime you download a song Wink [;)]

Re: Most Wanted Songs in Lips
i've been playing this game to death since i got it (700+ overall plays).

Ok, i second (or third, etc) Lips the 1980s edition (with 40 + songs).  In fact i would buy 5-10 1980s volumes (of 40 + songs, even at $59.99 - the videos alone have that much value to me) if they had the right songs.

These are not all 80s songs. We do need more power ballads (and ballads overall).

*Wham!/George Michael - especially Kissing a Fool, Monkey, Everything She Wants, Credit Card Baby (yeah right), Last Christmas
*Spandau Ballet - True
* Breathe (i really like Breathe) - Hands to Heaven, Don't Tell Me Lies, How Can I Fall, Does She Love that Man
* Johnny Hates Jazz - Shattered Dreams, Turn Back the Clock
* Cutting Crew - I've Been In Love Before, I Just Died in Your Arms
* Bryan Adams - Heaven, Summer of 69, Can't Stop this Thing We Started, Somebody, etc.
* Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up, Togehter Forever, Cry For Help
* Waterfront - Nature of Love, Cry
* Foreigner - about 10-20 songs
*Chesney Hawkes - The One and Only
* Jermaine Stewart - We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off
* Owen Paul - My Favourite Waste of Time
* The Outfield - You Love
* Michael Buble - Everything
* Deon Estus - Heaven Help Me
* Air Supply - Making Love Out of Nothing at All, Lost in Love, All Out of Love
* Alias - More than Words Can Say
* Bad English - Price of Love, When I See You Smile
* BB Mak - Back Here
* Billy Joel - a bunch of songs (especially An Innocent Man on)
* Men At Work - Overload, Who Can it Be Now, Down Under
* Savage Garden - Truly, Madly, Deeply , I Want You, I Knew I Loved You
* Bon Jovi - their 80s and early 90s stuff
* Chicago - Hard to Say I'm Sorry, Hard Habit to Break, You're the Inspiration, Look Away, If She would have been Faithful, etc.
* Crowded House - Something so Strong
* Daniel Bedingfield - If You're Not the One
* Duran Duran - Reflex, Come Undone, Save a Prayer, Skin Trade, Notorious, etc
* Glass Tiger - Someday, Don't Forget Me When I'm Gone
* Go West - The King of Wishful Thinking, Faithful, What You Won't Do For Love
* Hall & Oates - a ton of songs (80s)
* Huey Lewis and the News - about 10 songs
* John Mayer - a few songs
* Jon Secada - Do You believe in Us, Angel, If you Go, I'm Free, Just another day, Mental Picture, Whipped
* Jude Cole - baby It's Tonight
* Lifehouse - Whatever it Takes, First Time, Broken, Hanging by a Moment
* Mike + the Mechanics - Living Years, All i need is a Miracle
* Mr. Mister - Broken Wings, Kyrie, Is It Love
* Richard Marx - a bunch of songs
* Tears for Fears - Shout, Everybody Wants to Rule the World, Head Over Heals
* Take That - several songs
* Wang Chung - several songs

a ton of other stuff that i won't bother to list
