In an effort to avoid any further ridicule from my fellow Gamerdads, I picked up the Original Bioshock and have started playing it for the first time, and I must say I am loving it!!  So as to avoid any spoilers, which, since its been out so long need not have any warnings and be commonly talked about, I am avoiding the Bioshock Forums and most discussions of Bio2.  But I am loving this game.....one thing I really dont like so much is the Havok engine, It got old in Oblivion very fast, seems a bit better in Bio then Oblivion though.

You're going to love the way the story turns out. Just wait until you reach the half-way point......

Powerful stuff.

Yesterday I was trying for the Jackpot Chievo, so I played it for about an hour with my eyes closed, I was so tired from staying up very late over the last week playing, I got it and promtly went to bed, at 5pm!

Currently my most anticipated game ever, as the first one was before it came out.

Thankfully co-op has been pulled.

I wish they kept in co-op. It would've been awesome, and I might actually buy the game. I'm not a huge fan of the "sit there and play by yourself games". Anyways, I thought they dropped the "Sea of Dreams" part and it's just Bioshock 2? At least that's what I read at Joystiq.

This is a day one purchase for me.  I loved the first one and I have been trying to stay away from anything Bioshock 2.  I just can't help myself though.

Re: BIOSHOCK 2!
Bioshock 2 multiplayer is going to be made by Digital Extremes. These guys did the PS3 version of Bioshock 1 and they also did some Unreal Tournament games, which is a good sign. Its good that they got a developer thats familiar with the game and the overall enviroments because 2k said that the multiplayer is basically going to be a mini prequel to the first two games. This sounds pretty awseome to me, as long as it doesnt take away from the single player.

Re: BIOSHOCK 2!
All I know is, at no point in my playthrough of Bioshock did I feel like I was missing out on anything without having multiplayer. I don't get the desire to shoe-horn multiplayer into every single game out there.

When I die, I want to go like grandpa, peacefully while I'm asleep. Not screaming like the other people in his car.

It doesnt really sound like there its just gonna be regular multiplayer though. What there doing is actually adding a story around the multiplayer, so its not just going to be "deathmatch" and "capture the flag", its going to be something that fans of the story are going to want to enjoy and thats the only reason im interested in it. If it wasnt a prequel sort of thing to the first game then I probably wouldnt care at all.

Re: BIOSHOCK 2!
I started BioShock with no interest then bought it on impulse and loved every freaking second of it.

Weird thing is that since Bio2 was annouced I felt the same way again.  Very little Ken Levine, Big Sisters instead of Big Daddies, MP... it all seemed like the game was jumping the shark a bit.  Then I saw the 9 minute video and all was change.
I would actually say that this is the game I want to see the most from at E3, especially some MP in action.

I think most of us on here can agree that Bioshock 2 is going to be pretty darn exciting, to say the least. I know I'm excited: I hope there's friggin' Midnight releases for God's sake!

Most impressive.
Question for the moment: how long will it take and how many developer/publisher screens will we see before actually getting to the title menu?  Aren't there 3 companies + working on this now?  Stick out tongue [:P]
