talk to me man...are u on drugs? i know what it is you have pre game release anxiety. anything looks good when there is nothing else to play or compare it to. just like if nba 2000 was the only basketball game to come it, it would rock due to the fact that there is nothing else like it to play.

u should rent it and hold out for something better, i mean, i dont want to sound like i am bashing the game, but i AM SO SICK OF XBOX 360 GAMES THAT ARE NO CREATIVE OR INNOVATIVE. FOR ALL I AM CONCERNED, ALOT OF THESE GAMES ARE JUST XBOX GAMES WITH BETTER GRAPHICS. ITS STARTING TO HURT ME A LITTLE BECAUSE I AM SUCH AN XBOX ADVOCATE. I JUST WANT TO PLAY A NEXT GEN GAME THAT IS TRULY NEXT GEN.

1.  THE GRAPHICS COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT BETTER.
2.  THE CONTROLS SHOULD BE WAAAAAAAAY BETTER
3.  THERE SHOULD BE AN UNLIMITED AMOUNT OF CREATIVE VOIVE OVERS AND CONSTANT CONVERSATION BETWEEN UR SQUAD. EXPLOSIONS SHOULD MAKE U SAY AWE!, INSTEAD OF OH!

i think the game is a lot of fun, destructible everything, played with a bunch of friends for a few hours and it's got me about 90% sure I'll buy the full version, takes a little strategy to win the game but it's an absolute blast

I think almost every negative on this thread is correct.  The graphics are dissappointing(I know its a "different" type of game but still), the controls are clunky, and the online experience is buggy.  BUT...once you get into it the game is a lot of fun.  Is it worth the cash...I dunno...depends on how the full version is with all of the maps and game modes.  If the other maps/modes are diverse than I can definitely see ppl getting a ton of hours of play out of the multiplayer, myself included.  If not, then as was said earlier, it is a really good XBL Arcade game and I'll wait till its in the bargain bin.

As of RIGHT NOW:

Graphics......7               Concept.........9

Controls.......6              Fun Factor......8

Very good review. I agree that at first it was busted! Then once I figured out what I was doing, it became fun. Not as detailed as a BF2 or advanced as GR but fun in its own right. It's an arcade style game if you ask me.... Good for a rainy day

I've only played one round, so right now I'm thinking, "What the *** is going on? This game sucks." I'm going to play more rounds tomorrow since I'm sure that once I get it, it'll be fun. Graphics are below par no matter what anyone says, though, but a game isn't all graphics. I just need to play more, then I'll be able to give a good review.

I am not buying this on release day though, I wanna read what people have to say about the lag with 4 vs 4 w/ the finished product, because that would suck if it was as laggy as it is now.

I would say 90% of all multiplayer games have considerable lag on release day.  Remember how long it took to find a match on Halo 2 the first night?  BFMC2 had horrible lag for the first week some would argue a whole month!  On 360 CoD2 had huge problems with lag, may still have, I haven't played it for awhile....

I'm sure GR-AW will have lag on day one, we just have to wait and see....

Thats the way I feel about it. It isn't anything new but it is the one thing that counts and that is fun. I think the graphics should be better and I seriosly hope they do get better but graphics now aren't really a big thing to me since everything looks great now compared to old systems.

I might not buy this game right away but If I see it for $40 I will pick it up. Definately alot of fun but the character movements are stiff, the graphics aren't stellar and the guns don't feel like they have much power but it is really chaotic and fun.

I had no idea that this game was a strategy game. I thought it was just going to be some random 3rd person Shooter.

2) Water kills you...   WHAT????  Take us back to GTAIII why don't you!

3) Players move stiff and veeeeery sssloooooooooow.

4) Vehicle control is a joke. (running over a wheel barrel with a half track makes the half track spin out of control!?)

5) Players take waaaay to much damage before they die. (I ran a guy over with the half track 3 times in a row without killing him)

6) Buildings don't explode and blow up realisticly...   they kind of...  sink into the ground or crumble to large unrealistic chunks of...   stuff.

7) The cheep corny (Brute Force) one liners.    "hey bratha, you making me mad" lol

I could go on, but I'll just leave it at this...   The Outfit (with the small exception of online play) offers nothing that we havn't played over a year ago on the Xbox.

IMHO...   it's a step above Brute Force, and a few steps behind Mercenaries.  Thats sad.

1) I just looked at a bunch of Mercenaries xbox pics and The Outfit pics.  The Outfit looks better, at least in HD.
2) Look at my post on page 2 regarding the water, it would ruin the game if you could just run through it.
3) Did you play long enough to make use of the sprint button? (R bumper)
4) The game is arcade, not sim, it was made that way on purpose.
5) I don't know about that, when I ran over people, they died.  With 4 guys on each side who also have 4-5 squad members each (~20 guys a side), if you took more damage you'd die way too easily.  I've seen people die in a matter of seconds, and it wasn't just due to skill.
6) Why would buildings explode, do they have bombs inside or are they full of gasoline?  No.  I agree what happens when they fall isn't spectacular, but the damage they take from different weapon types is not bad.
7) That's just the style, again, made that way on purpose.

Comparing Mercenaries, a single player game, to this is not a good comparison.

Re: FIRST IMPRESSION ALL WHO'VE PLAYED RESPOND

Although everyones expert opinion is just as dull as their expirience, all things being equal, I am not disappointed. Finally a game that just involves you, the war, and the rockets red glare. Not that repetitive take this war seriously with a bit of wit in the action... mwa-huh. Remember Commando (NES), how you could just throw gernades and shoot positions and how hard but fun it was? Don't get me wrong, I am going to get GRAW but that game is for my Veteran side, but Outfit, the will be strickly for the fun of war and destruction.

However, my only beef is the lack of instruction, as a matter of fact alot of people would have a different grasp of the demo had some instructions and/or direction were published within the menus. I still dont feel like i completly know what im suppose to do...

Re: FIRST IMPRESSION ALL WHO'VE PLAYED RESPOND
On a 1-10 scale here is how I would rate this game based upon the demo.  Yes, the full game may be different, but all I have to go on is the demo at this time.

Graphics:  3

This may seem harsh, but if you have played the game then there is no question it could have been done on xbox 180.  There may be some special effect or two that the 180 couldn't do, but the overall look is current gen, not next gen.  It isn't an ugly game and the graphics are entirely serviceable, but for the next gen price tag of $60, I insist my next gen games look and play next gen or they are rentals at best.  If this was released for xbox 180 it would rapidly be on sale for $29.99 and would be given an 8-9 for graphics.  It would be a very good game for that system.  I don't want to slam this game too hard on graphics, it is simply that this is the next gen console and the game is current gen in the graphics department.

Online play:  6

There seems to be a lag problem.  In most games I have played tonite it wasn't a game killer, but it was noticeable.  Sure, in some cases it may have been the host's connection and a few games I didn't notice any lag, but others played well for awhile, bogged down and then played well again.  Not sure what the cause was.  Beyond lag the game seems fairly shallow, but fun.  Blow stuff up, mayhem everywhere and capture the strategic points and hold them.  I would imagine that for the hardcore fans who have a solid friend's list to play this game and learn it's ins and outs this game could be quite fun.  I doubt this game is going to have strong appeal to a wide range of gamers though and I imagine once the hardcore get it down pat it will be quite intimidating to newbies trying to figure things out whilst losing time after time to experienced players.

Sound:  8

I don't have a surround set up to judge the positional sound, but the overall sound seemed pretty good to me.  It reinforced the chaotic feel of the game play.    For those without surround set ups I would probably say around an 8.  For those with surround setups I can't say.  The voice acting reminds me of the 'Commandos' series of games.  In other words it is kind of bad, but for this type of game it works well.

Longevity:  7

Depends on the player I suppose.  Given the current gen graphics and fun, but shallow gameplay I think this will likely get eclipsed by the release of GRAW and when GRAW players want a break they will split time between this and PDZ (and the arcade).  It just isn't all that compelling a game to get into with a lot of time for me.

Overall I find The Outfit to be a decent game that is coming out at the same time as a must have online game (GRAW) and a must have offline game (Oblivion) and probably isn't going to be a success as it doesn't have anything really outstanding to offer the gamer.  If this had been released as an xbox 180 game I would give it an overall 8-8.5.  If this game had been kept back until the graphics were much improved and the gameplay given more depth it would likely rate the same for 360, but if the demo is indicative of what the final game will be minus a tweak here and there then this isn't a must have for me.

My overall rating is a 7.  It is a decent game, not an outstanding one and it isn't next gen in graphics or gameplay.

Strongly agree here.  I had to play around 5 games before I had the first clue what I was to be doing.  It wouldn't have hurt for there to have been some instructions with this demo.

Crap. Garbage.

This game is a total waste of the manhours put into making it.

Graphics - nothing special. could be done on XB1
Gameplay - Brute force was better, and i wasnt a big fan of brute force
Audio - Stupid
Story - WHo the *** knows? Multiplayer only without even a training mission? STUPID
Overall - waste of the time it took to download i give it an OVERLY GENEROUS 5/10

Watch for this title in walmarts $5 bargain bin

It's pretty good, map seemed a litle small (they put a small map on the demo). It's hard to judge since the demo has bugs. I had a hard time picking spawns since it would jump all around till I finally go it to stop. There are some lag issues I hope are addressed. Oherwise it's fun. However Ghost Recon AW remains my favorite. I played that one earlier on and can't wait to hop online with the retail version.

I haven't gotten to play much. We share a Xbox 360. Susan's been playing FFXI so much I haven't played anything much so we have to devide our time.

True a games gameplay is key and without that theres nothing..... but its sure nice if its pleasing on the eye

i think the fact we all have Xbox 360s and can be dubbed 'early adopters' suggests we'd all like a bit of candy

--------------------------------

As far as the outfit goes it seemed pretty cool, only had a quick blast before work but i liked the tounge in check factor and 'mayhem' that seems to occure.

True the graphics dont really show of the 360 but looks good enough

Well after a few hours playing around, im quite impressed. Ok the graphics are nothing special but the charries are pretty enough and lots of stuff does happen at once. As a multiplayer game it reminds me of a cross between battlefield and worms. the whole building aspect is what really is fun though, just lining up turrets and such. the way all the squads kind of stick together makes it fel much more like a battle too. In HD it looks ok , the draw distance is good but i wish theyd tone down the depth of feild effect, makes things far away really blurry. Also, balancing needs a little work, i mean infantry vs tanks, you dont really have a lot of options. perhaps some plastic explosives or some way for a solder to even attempt to take out a tank.
