I think they should replace the flamethrowers with snipers and i think you should be able to choose what weapon the spartans have.

Way to stay informed. Ensemble didn't go out of business. Microsoft shut the studio down and fired half the staff. The rest were moved to another studio. Those who got fired formed Robot Entertainment.
You'd be suprised at how many Halo fans don't know that the Master Chief is a slave.

Halo Wars is not Ensemble IP, Microsoft can have another company do Halo Wars 2 ... most likely the same company that does the Halo Wars DLC and support. After all robot entertainment is said to consist mostly of former Ensemble employees.

What I want:
- longer campaign with larger variety of missions (mission without bases would be welcome)
- more unit types in campaign - all SP units dont have to be in MP after all
- main campaign should be UNSC again, but I would like to see another (shorter) campaign - possibly extended tutorial - depending on the setting: covenant separatist vs. loyalist campaign / UNSC vs. rebels campaign
- those in-engine cutscenes should be in-game instead, its strange to see units you dont actually have to show in the middle of the battle only to disappear few seconds later
- even more of those awesome cgi cutscenes

Easy, they make more money by charging you $10 every map pack they release. If we had the ability to make maps and share them with others they wouldn't sink their greasy hands down our pockets, so they lose that extra money.

Its pretty easy to figure out.


Map editors would be great. Even more...if the map is liked enough it could be playable in matchmaking!

Better story possibly involving well known Halo characters.

Optional Natal motion control

Forge mode/map builder

Better graphics and explosions

Faster paced gameplay with more action

Have some actual Halo music in the campaign to get that epic battle feeling

If anything, it would be less popular. A low depth RTS won't survive on the PC just because it has Halo in its name. Compare Halo Wars to poular PC RTSs like Star Craft, Command and Conquer, Age of Empires and so on. A PC player would be bored of it in a week at the most.

Exactly. HW only works on the 360 because it was built specifically for it, PC RTS are far more complex and with a larger and much more sophisticated areas of gameplay.

SC2 would erase all memory of a PC version of HW if there was ever one.

No it wouldn't. The only reason it was successful on xbox was because of Halo, and through its simplicity had good controls. on PC you can get strategy games with wayyyy better gameplay, graphics, and MUCH smoother controls. And pc gamers wouldn't be attached to Halo like 360ers are, so they'd have even less reason to buy it.
that magazine was wrong
Commander's Challenge is the only XBL Arcade game worth getting.

Not with StarCraft 2 out to dominate the RTS genre the next decade and beyond thats for sure ;)

And yea...Rare is pretty much dead too.

Back to the idea of a re-texture, some units have it and some dont, Hornets upgrade for chaff pod and you can see the chaff, which is cool. Scorpions get a new Y power yes...but they don't look any different. And personally i'd like to see those minute details.

Also say you build a unit- you should be able to build them with modifiers. Like lets say you have your selector over a marine- you should be able to hold down RB and then a secondary menu would popup, and you could choose to make them with BR's or Snipers. So lets say you don't choose a modifier- they get assault rifles and they are mid range. Br modifier makes them shoot less often but get more accurate and do higher dmg overall- but it costs more. Sniper modifier lets them shoot from farrrr away, and higher dmg per shot, but more delay between shots.

This doesn't have to apply to every unit, but brainstorming ideas-

Hornets: you could modify the marines riding shotgun. So no modifier and they get rockets, lets say you give em snipers- they get better anti-infantry support, or maybe an engineer to repair outside of combat, or maybe just a marine with a laser for more effiecent single unit takedowns.

Warthog- The marine riding shotgun, no mod hes just got gernades. A modifier could mean you give him instead a rocket launcher. Or a laser.

Now it could get difficult to remember which units are which. When you select the unit they could just use color to designate which modifier you are using. Like the regular blue is no modifier, whereas red or green would designate which mod it is.

Now some might argue that this is a little complicated, but its something they could do with a controller pretty easily, and it would add depth to the game. Like a hornet with a engineer modifier would be able to heal outside combat- which is a verrry nice abillity. So an army of marines with snipers would be slightly more effective against infantry, but not as much as flamethrowers.




Blue flames for flamethrower units. Where have I seen that before? But I like your unit outfitting ideas. Since HW doesn't have as many units as some other RTSs, this would open up plenty of depth for the game, but still keep it simple. If HW2 had a system like that, I would be very interested in the micro potential it could have.

Halo Wars always felt like a slow game to me. I'd enjoy some kind of mode that would speed up the game.

100%: Avatar:TLA:TBE, COD4, Dash of Destruction, Halo 3, Skate, Skate2. :)

I thought the pace of the game was pretty decent. It just seemed to be slow and dull in longer games when super-units are constantly being rolled out.
