Ember the point of the game is the arm. you dont need to jump with that. I love this game and since my NES doesnt work anymore I was extreamly happy to see they brought this classic back.

Yeah...or you just suck at using it. It really isn't that hard. The only problem I had with it was on the world map, when you just won't go diagonally up, but right or upwards instead. Just to clarify:
Ground controls:
B: diagonal
Up+B: up
Left/Right+B: left/right
Down+B: low left/right

Aerial controls:
B: diagonal
Up+B: up
Left/Right+B: still diagonal
Down+B: left/right

So to conclude: There is no need to press diagonal directions and if you can't distinguish left from up or down, you just suck at using a controller. No offense, it just doesn't give you the right to complain.

I already know how the controls work fanboy troll . I have been playing BC since it came out and even played the arcade one when I was a child .
The fact is a + shaped D pad ( old nintendo controller ) is what should be on the D pad in the xbox controller but underneath it rests on an actuator so tapping one direction can actually mean tapping more than one, this does not happen on a traditional D-pad (old nintendo controller)  . Not to mention , the D pad just plain wears out fast so direction tapping could be nonexistent in some cases making you die . I actually like this game I just came in here to clarify that these people complaining that you can't jump are morons and that the controller is to blame for frustration .  Hey Guess what i've never seen you play Gears 2 but you definately suck at it .
Around when reamred 1st came out I achieved 12th place in one of the challenge rooms I think that qualifies me to gripe about the controller . Go flame some PS3 users on youtube or something .

Anyway, you never said you were using the d-pad on the controller, at least not in the post I read. I was assuming you used the control stick. I can't comment on the d-pad since I barely used it, but I'm just saying that the control stick works perfectly fine for me. And please don't call me a fanboy, I hate those irrational flamers as much as you do.
