I barely understood most of that, but Xbox Live should NOT be free.
It is head and shoulders above PS3 in terms of online. If you want free, go PC or PS3. They're both great. We get private chats/party chats/great servers, etc. Xbox Live is an amazing platform that they are constantly improving. You should have seen it back in 2002 (? might be wrong here ?). It's come a LONG ways.
It will never become free. I'm sure the 17 million subscribers are just fine with that. You're paying about $4 a month. Seriously. FOUR DOLLARS. If that's too much, buy less games.
