As others have said, this is a purely community organized event by community members who happen to live in Toronto.  You're more than welcome to organize an event in your own city/town and invite people as well.

That's certainly an option, but I'm a little too young to be organizing something like that. I know a few gamers in the area so maybe we could all set something up soon. They're good ideas and cool ways to meet fellow, local gamers and make new friends.

You can also always throw fun little local parties for your friends right in your own home.  I've done that many times, and they're always good times!

Yeah! I've done that a few times but at other people's houses. In fact, for a Halloween party I'm going to we'll be rockin' out on Guitar Hero and Rock Band all night :P

Even small groups of friends gaming together across Canada can get in on the experience. Just run your event at the same time and we can interact via Live and online.

I wouldn't doubt it if there was 50 guys and one girl, which would be kinda funny. 50 guys just watching the one girl the whole party. I think I'll just stay home and play Medieval 2: Total War or something. Anyways try to have fun at those parties. If anyone wants to challenge me you know my Gamer Tag.

if you're going just to ogle any girls present, im sure any in attendance won't stay long. Why not just be a normal, sociable person instead rather than objectifying women? Maybe you'd be happier in a "hey are there any girls who play ____" threads. It's a party so there will be a fair mix of people.

Before this thread gets de-railed in to creepyville let me just say that yes there are a few girls confirmed in attendance. That should really be non-issue though. We're all mature adults who interact with the opposite gender on a day-to-day basis, why would seeing one at a gaming function be anything substantial? I hope everyone who wants to come can make it out and have a good time playing games and having fun with other gamers, period.

It would be cool beans if I join the party but I'm a student so heading out of the city in the middle of mid-semister might be a bad idea. Heck, I missed too much school due to sickness and lateness already so I can't really ditch the home base. (Calgary) The second problem is my un-ending annoying current state of unemploment means no money for fly-time. On the 14th though I will post a "Happy party time fer you!" or something and that is the best I can do. Big Smile [:D]Yes [Y]

When I wrote that I didn't mean me. I meant it as a joke(guess you didn't get it). Besides, I would be the guy cursing like crazy because he keeps losing(I'm not the best gamer). So forget and move on. Hey look, a copy of Halo 3! Go get it!

Well everyone its Halloween tomorrow. You know what that means. Trick or treaters. Theys not gettins any of me candies. My candy, MINE! Good thing I'm all out of the stuff. Thankfully I live in the country so I probably won't have to put up with them little buggers. Another hint for them is I have no Halloween decorations. And the severed heads on pikes that I have might also do the trick. Anyways have fun at your parties.

That might be nice - I'm don't think anybody's volunteered to bring DJ Hero yet so that would be fun. Thanks so much for asking though. The more people pitching in the better, after all :) This weekend I'll try to compile a list of people so far confirmed to be coming and see if I can think of anything else we could use. suggestions and guests welcome ofcourse.

Re: Xbox Canada Community Birthday Party
I think for the games we'll be running they'll be shorter-burst multiplayer titles. So, things like Rock Band / DJ Hero will be paramount as well as timed shooters/racers. Some of the sports titles suggested are great, but those games can last a long time and I don't know if we want to lock people in for 30-60 minutes on a single game while we'll have limited consoles and a lot of people.

We'll be updating everyone this weekend regarding what titles etc will be playable as well as finalizing our RSVP'd list. You don't have to RSVP to come, but it just helps us plan certain supplies for you guys.

Cineplex offering Xbox parties on the BIG screen
Cineplex is now offering Xbox 360 parties on the BIG screen at theatres across the country for $180. You can learn more at their website. The downside is that you can't bring your own refreshments although you do get a discount of 30% off the regular (i.e. exhorbidant) rates. Perhaps this can be worked into the birthday party somehow.
