ShadowLum- I'm with you, they have almost every other Star Wars game on the BC list, but not Outcast? That's crap.

Who wouldn't be upset with such poor compatbility, guess we won't be getting anymore compatible games, as company sees no value in them, and will not direct human resources to make something work without return.

The Originals are different, they are still bringing money into Microsoft's pocket, and therefore making them work pays, for other who already owned the discs, the value ends when the original xbox is out of the picture.

Microsoft doesn't really care how badly you want to play those classics again, if it doesn't give them return, they won't bother with it, capitalism is as simple as that.

If only 360 uses hardware simulation, then compatibility won't be a problem, but again when putting "useless" hardware into their new toy when they can make more money with "useful" games.

Just woundering now, this means there will not be any more updates to allow further xbox origianls to be backward compatible for the 360? I am a big fan of the Kingdom Under Fire Series and love all there games, but i can play evey game they have (exlcuding the PC version) except KUF:Heroes. I would like to know that you will update so that i will be able to play KUF:Heroes on the 360, why put the 1st game on and not the 2nd one?

If i bought the KUF:Heroes could i put in the disc in my 360 and a update will be avaible or wont it work?

If the above isnt allowed please, please let KUF:Heroes backward compatible, or able to buy through marketplace.

This is ridiculous. I made a SPECIAL purchase of Timesplitters 2 and 3 on the xbox in hope that one day they would be playable on my 360. Now I find out there will be no more updates. Both Microsoft AND Sony are now giving the finger to the fans that made them what they are. I mean what's the f***ing point of saying 100% of the xbox originals will be playable and then not even getting close to that. Giving back to the customers once in a while would have been nice but no typical Microsoft don't care.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this before, but why hasn't NFS: Underground 1 been patched yet? (Yes, I posted the same question in another thread, too.)

If any moderators are reading this, please ask MS to put out a patch for this game?

Hey everyone, I just want to remind you all to try every XBox game on XBox 360 even if it's not on the compatibility list. I am sitting here now playing The Legend of Spyro A New Beginning on my 360 and it's not on the list. Not a popular game, I know, but it still works when it shouldn't. Maybe more games work but you won't know until you try. Please post back if you find a game not on the list that works.

Also, it looks like Gamestop is making a final push to clear out the old XBox games before sending them to the landfill. They are having a B2G2 free sale. That's Buy 2 Get 2, not the usual Buy 2 Get 1, so if your local GS still has any good XBox titles in stock, you'd better grab them now while you can. It might also be smart to stock up on extra copies of the DVD's, manuals, cases, and box art of your favorite games if you need them before they go away for good and can't be gotten anymore.

i emailed customer support about the notion of having the ability to install your Xbox originals(disc)- granted that it can be played.

I found out that i can play Xbox games on my Xbox arcade system, even though i was under the impression that i couldn't from the information on the box.

I'm buying games left and right, lol - JSRF, Conker L&R, Doom 3, Silent hill 2 & 4, Shenmue 2

What do you mean "xbox arcade system"?  I never had a regular xbox, so if it's something pertaining to the original xbox, then why wouldn't you be able to play regular xbox games on it?  But if you mean the xbox 360 arcade bundle, the one that comes with no harddrive and the built-in memory unit... then I have that, and you CANNOT play just any old xbox original game on it.  I can play all the ones specified as 'backwards compatible', but not just any xbox original you pick up and wanna play.  I borrowed the 007 game 'From Russia With Love' from a buddy not even a month ago and it didn't work.  I just didn't have a BC list at his place, so figured Id give it a shot.

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardcompatibilitygameslist.htm

Here's the 'backwards compatible" list... and Shenmue II, Conker: Live & Reloaded, Silent Hill 2 & 4, and Doom 3 are all on it.  So, why wouldn't you be able to play them?  What exactly are you talking about?

I know... that's the one I have.  I was just wondering if the poster was talking about something else because he seemed surprised that he could play those games when they're all on the 'backwards compatible' list.

JMCatrow,

It's possible that the poster, like some others, are still new to the platform and the fact that all 360 versions can play backwards-compatible original Xbox games once a hard drive is attached and the appropriate software is downloaded.

What Microsoft needs to do is send out one last update for BC.  But before they do, get all info from us gamers that still have OG XBOX games.  I'm one of the lucky owners of an OG XBOX from 2001 with the Thompson drive that still works, but as of late has been lagging.  I would like to play more games on my 360.  For example, I loce playing SSX Tricky, and so does my daughter, but no BC for it.  Also, no BC for her Wallace and Grommit game as well.  I say one more update, this time with our word to fill in the void for all the missing games that are not on the list...  One more thing, although not pertaining to this matter, how can I add games to my HDD for custom soundtracks like we were able to do with the OB box with Music Mixer...

I wouldnt mind seeing them fix some of the compatibility issues by removing some of the glitches...i play morrowind on my 360 and its almost impossible when the screen blacks out on me during a boss fight...or when my original games become static during my game...i just wish they would address this issue quick fast and in a hurry for the bigger games like KoToR 1 and 2 and Morrowind that I play dont know if anyone else seen this happen

I've played at least 20 xbox originals since getting my 360 and I haven't had a single one of them glitch or freeze or go black.  Are you sure it's not a problem with your console or harddrive?  Do you have any of the same things happen on 360 games, or just originals?
