I am finding Alistair to be the biggest waste of time in the game.

You can give him the best weapons and armour going but unless you give him potions nearly every turn he is pretty much guaranteed to die.

The guy is just a potion drain.

I found that sten likes to sip on potions a bit to much lol!

Time to crack out a mage char!...think i'll get my war lvl 20 first.

The are "Buff" spells. Other characters can buff you, or you can use some of your own on yourself also, you can activate them and deactivate your own as and when needed. They help a lot in fights.

Yep, have to keep those cheeks looking rosy Big Smile [:D]

On a serious note, I also keep a Rogue on my team, Leilana. For some reason I can do no wrong in that girl's eyes and I expect it shall be her I end up bedding in the game.

She's also very skilled with a bow and arrow.

Interestingly enough, I always keep a rogue in my party too... but then as I am one I have little say in the matter. I would have hated too not be able to open all those lovely chests at the beginning of the game.

I'm missing a lot of the side quests because of the lack of a mission marker for them.

Even if you set it as the active quest, most don't even point you in the right direction. This wouldn't be too bad but some of the clues they give you are so obscure that they should be in the Times' Cryptic Crossword.

I'm finding that I spend long intervals on this game, it's very addictive.  The story is great, as is the lore surrounding it.  I read every codex that is given, as I think it improves the overall understanding to the story.  A marvelous game for sure, and one I think that may be going straight to number 1 spot for my Game of The Year!

Re: Dragon Age: Origins Discussion
This thread is such a tease for those of us who don't have the game yet.  The more that's said, the more enjoyable the game sounds, fingers crossed that my copy arrives tomorrow.

The game likely won't get 'Game Of The Year' due to a certain rehash coming out in a couple of days, but by the sounds of things, Dragon Age deserves the tag of 'Game Of The Year' a lot more than the other.

Last year Bethesda released an incredible RPG - Fallout 3, the year before that was Bioware with Mass Effect and this year Bioware releases Dragon Age, and appears to be amazing from the views of those who have played it and loved it.  Think next year we'll see another RPG from Bethesda that's also amazing?
Bring on the RPG's.

Nope. That does not help you find quests and items of interest. Only you can do that by looking around. LOL Wink [;)]

I would suggest giving the game a chance.

For us RPG players it's like a duck to water. I've really enjoyed every single moment of this game and continuing to do so.

Still, each to their own.

Well the main thing I'd like a mission marker for is so I don't have to keep pulling up the map to make sure I am going in the right direction.

 PhoeNiX ZaK wrote:

You paid £45 for the game?

It is certainly one that not everyone will enjoy though. The story is quite heavy and the sheer depth of the stats and combat tactics can be crushing, I scratch my head on occasion and I have a little knowledge of the rule set the game follows.
