well  when and IF it does come out..I believe that a Great Bunch of the Old gang that played links in the beginning will come back to spank all of these new guys on the courses..

I have been hoping for links to be on the compatibility list but alas no.

I am hopeful looking at the post from the major and Daryl who i have alot of time for.

My current disks are almost unplayable now due to scratches/repairs etc.

Does anyone know where i can get hold of a new copy? need PAL version.

Understand there are alot in America (NTSC version)

Even ebay over here does no have any, knew there would be a problem when take 2 got the game.

What links needed was to be on the classics label, may not be worrying about seeing a new version then...

i so, hope this happens soon.  TW is so unrealistic, and to be an EA game that is a huge surprise to me.  Links always has been the best golf game out there.  i so hope they do it soon for the 360

I will DEFINATELY to be coming back to lay the smackdown on my fellow links kin folk. Hopefully we dont have to wait til 2007.

Thank you for your support, there is no better golf game out there and as a lot of Daryl walsh`s team are links players i hope they will give this some urgency, at the moment we still have the hard core linksters but they are starting to migrate to the inferior T/W 2006, simply because they can get a game....i hope they read your aticle and raise it up, the major is a fan of links as well so with you guys on board we must have a chance..please visit www.xsnlinks.com and leave a post...thanks again...lol

MGM!!!  Hows it going!!  I gave Links away to a buddy of mine who still has the black box.  I did recevie Shush's invite but will not be able to play.  

I agree I have Links for the Pocket PC, Xbox, and my home PC.  I have had Links back in 1998 and they have always be great games.  If it came out for xbox 360 I would be all over it. My brother also loves the game.

The Game will Suck, Why, Becuase anything made by 2K Games Sucks, You should just leave the 2K Sports and the former Microsoft Sports Games on the shelves and buy the Microsoft Sports games. Take-Two Discrased Visual Concepts by buying the company and then making this brand, Why? Sega should of just bought them and continue making Sports Games.

Microsoft, If you are listening, You must buy back all your former sports francises, and we want an Improved XSN network when you guys release NBA Inside Drive 2007, NHL Rivals 2007 and Rallisport Challange 3 and we want you to make them to perfection, Always Perfect with the Best Graphics, Modes, Gameplay and Innovative Features. and when the EA/NFL deal expires, Microsoft can make NFL Fever 2011 to combat EA's Madden Franchics and NFL 2K series.

i was really disappointed that links was'nt one of the backwards compatible games,i hope they pull their finger out and release it for xbox 360,or allow you to play 2004 on it!

GeeOh old friend, how are things?  We mixed it up on the Links a couple years back, youprobably remember me as Pensfan9192 from the Live games.

I'll be getting a new gamertag soon as I jsut got a 360 and had actually quit playing for a while.  The wife somehow found me one for Christmas (10 years of marriage pays off!!).   When they wise up and pt out Links 06/07 I'll see you on the first tee at midnight of launch day!

are there any shots of the new links yet??  i heard it was being made by 2K Sports instead of microsoft.

Nothing yet from 2K Sports...we haven't even heard anything from Daryl Welsh (who used to be a part of the Links development team and has stayed with Microsoft) in a month or two.  back in Oct/Nov, he said that once Amped 3 and Top Spin 2 were out of the pipeline, 2K Sports would turn their attention to the new Links.

I don't know that there's too much Daryl can say at this point.  I think we'll hear something about Links 2K6(7?) in February, maybe even January... 2K Sports is driving that ship now.

There is definitely going to be another Links game. I don't think it's be called Links 2K*. The 2K Sports is owned by Take-Two Interactive.

They bought out all the stock for Visual Concepts Ent. back in Jan 05, along with Kush Games. The Links series was made by Access Software Inc and Microsoft acquired them back in 1999.

If you remember, Microsoft made a lot of golf games that were very similar to the Links series, but Access Software's Links series would easily outsell MS' Golf every year. So instead of fighting a losing battle, year after year, Microsoft just decided to purchase Access Software Inc. Problem solved. Now they have the best golf game on PC & Mac.

In any case the game will most likely be called Links 2006. I think the game is already in the works, but probably won't get announced until next years E3, if not sooner. Hopefully we'll see an XBox360 version as well with at least 15 courses, lots of modes, tournaments, rankings and game challenges.

Tiger Woods 06 isn't a bad game. It's not very realistic though. I think the Gamebreaker feature ruins some of the fun. It really doesn't know if it wants to be a sim or an arcade golf game. I've played about 12rd of TW06 and have already gotten 2 hole in ones and about 10 eagles from the fairway. I average about -9 a rd. The tournaments are tough only because the computer creates a score around your score. So if I shoot a -11 under, at least 10 computer players will shoot the same or higher score, which is BS. If I shoot a lower score, so will the computer controlled player. This makes it tough to win all the tournaments, but also makes it unrealistic. The other problem is control. It's way to easy to hit the ball down the middle of the fairway. Where as with Links, if you are slightly offline the ball will draw/fade in that direction. Doesn't happen in TW06. I think I've miss about 4 fairways in 12 rds.

Oh well. I can't wait for the next Links game for the PC and XBox/Xbox360. Hopefully something will be announced soon.  

I got this game as a sleeper....didn't even know it was on the market and happened to be game shopping and saw it about a year and a half ago at Best Buy for $19.99. Bought it, and haven't put the stick down yet. I play this game religiously, and will continue to play it until the new one is on the market. So, my two cents is that this is by far superior to any other golf games out there including PC versions. If I can ever get my hands on a 360 and the next generation LINKS 200X I'll be a happy camper. Oh, all those other things folks are saying about game additions for the next version is gravy in my opinion.

If you like golf (LINKS 2004) is a must have game. A major steal for the replayability. Best money I ever spent on a game.

In the wait for next gen Links..Tiger on the 360 is not bad at all....once you pull out the spin-in mid air and the power boost...just play in tour mode.Like Links...0 rated players are the best to play...the rest is cheezy.
