Matt2k6: Believe it, because it is
true. To a certain degree that is. We didn't have the
*exact* same people on it. People come and people go. For
instance, I never worked on Amped 1 or 2. I was on Links 2004 at
the time. There were a lot of the same people though.
Oh I think I believe it, but I also think you guys tried to pull an EA replicate off
to end in disaster. I know exactly why they did the game like they
did--BROADER audience, but I think you guys completely forgot Amped is
not for everyone. But those that were drawn in appreciated the 'freedom
of control' that maded it very unique sports game. Oh well that
is the past, but please I must not forget to thank you and the team for
bumbbling on "what to do next" to be CRUNCHED for 360 release!!
Absouletly BRILIANT!!
It does not take a the sharpest of eye to see the
results of your crunch developed Amped 3. I said it when the game came
out and knew TOO MUCH TIME WAS WASTED AS A RESULT! That multiplayer mtn
sounded like a dream, people competing against each other. Somehow you
should have made that idea work, it would have brought in a much much
broader variety of gamers. I guess you guys thought multiplayer wasn't
a major priority. Heck it should been like marriage and a no brainer.
Snowboaring without other players is NOT snowboarding!!! DO you even
realize that NO MULTIPLAYER of any type online-offline was SUICIDE for
the franchise to begin with!!!
The fact that Amped 3 is so different from Amped 2 was a conscious
decision on our part. While Amped 2 was fun, we felt it was too
demanding for more casual gamers.
Well that where you went WRONG and I don't, yes repeat I don't
snowboard, BUT I used to be a very hard core surfer in my teens. Uhhh
where did you ever get the idea that sk8ting, snowboarding, surfing or
for that any exterme sport shouldn't be demanding to learn!?! IT should
be no different in a game that is a virtual experince that you LEARN
over time. Amped 1 was perfect in the sense that you could NOT learn it
all in 1 week or even 1 month. Months of practice and progression
finally to show you how to really play the game. I m sorry to tell ya
but it was flawed logic to make a 'casual' snowboarding game. None of
these sports are casual, ethier learn it slowly over time or dont
bother at all.
Since you only had the casual gamer as your target you
basically RUIN a control scheme for peeps that don't like to bash thier
thumbs til they blister on TH game came to Amped for. CONTROLS were
everything for Amped and you guys KILLED and TRASHED some of the best
designed controls for the genre and that what made Amped the game it
was. I consider the game MOSTLY trashed in the 3, so rushed and mixed
up *** backwards that TRULY is INSULTING
Here's to HOPING (fingers crossed) 2k find a dev to give the franchise retubution for the trashy job you guys did!!!
