Hi Juxtapose,
Thanks again for your reply, you wont belive what happened to me.Last Tuesday the 8th of Sep I shipped my xbox for repair.Went to UPS bought a box, bubble wrap, pop corn, just to make sure my console has a safe trip.I received an email saying they were shipping it back to me.Well ,I was very pleased with the service. My box arrived today,15 sep.I opened the box, to find a note saying, console returned NOT REPAIRED.I was ready to kill sombody.I called xbox. After about a hour on the phone, they told me my console was tampered with.I ask the guy on the phone if he was kidding.I couldn't believe it.I asked him, if I tampered with it ,would I send it to you for service. So he agreed with me.So long story short, they are going to open a case file or something.and some one is going to call me to explain why my xbox was not repaired.Im getting to old for this crap.If any tampering was done, is was by those pin heads at Microsoft, when the thing broke the first time.Ill let you know what happens.Take care.
I am so pissed off! I'm going to buy a flame thrower.Microsoft beware.
Well, violent threats might not get you much but a law suit, but there are other courses of action.
Firstly, good on you for getting them to open a case file; that's a solid first step. Did they tell you when to expect to hear from the rep? If so, Xbox Support is notorious for _not_ calling people back, so be prepared to follow up. Once you do, if things don't go in a positive light, I recommend _not_ getting angry at the rep on the other end. Even though you will be ticked off, taking it out on him/her will accomplish nothing, and they certainly won't be inclined to help you.
Instead, take meticulous notes of _everything_. Then, file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. File it against Microsoft Canada, Xbox division. Only do so as a last resort, if talking with reps and managers is getting you no where.
Should you contact the Better Business Bureau, aside from providing them with your name, address, and phone number, make sure to provide them a detailed account from your notes, followed by a time line in bullet points, such as:
- Sept. 4th: Contacted Xbox Support to place Service Order
- Sept. 8th: Shipped Console out
- Sept. 15th: Received Console Back Unrepaired. Contacted Xbox Support and Opened Case File
Keep going until you've listed everything. Also make sure to list your service order number, console serial number, and the names of any reps you've spoken to if you've gotten that info. Don't provide unless asked, but hopefully you still have your receipt showing the purchase of your new console, to verify the warranty date if needed.
Of course, I hope you don't have to go through any of that, but if you do, note the Better Business Bureau can take about 3 weeks to make something happen, but Microsoft does take their inquires seriously.
Best of luck, and let us know what happens!
