At least my Repair has hit "in progress" it has been at that state since friday, I hape they get my repaired/replaced console shipped out today, usually they don't take long to do the repair/replace.

They may be taking extra time with it because I sent a letter about them lemoning(bad xenon console for my folcon) me on my last repair.

Finally got mine back today. Was a different Elite as expected. Sounds a tad different that my old one..weird start up sound but runs overall much more quieter. Fingers crossed this one will last for a little while.

I don't get it really. I sent my Halo green edition to Mesquite Tx, looks like they repaired it right there and are sending it back to me. My Serial number is the same and they gave me a 90 day warranty. SO this just adds to the chaos of what happens where and what do they do!

I'm just taking a guess, but maybe since your Xbox was a special edition they had to repair that one instead of just sending you a refurb. Because how many Halo Special Edition's do they have laying around to send people as replacements, right?

I was thinking the same thing.

No change in repair status today(sill in repair phase) :(,  Going to pick up Borderlands tomorrow.  This month was going to be so awesome! ugh.  I really hope I don't end up seeing the release of Forza3 before I get my console back.  This is turning out to be one bummer of a month.

On a side note, I think the repair centers are regional, my 360s seem to always go to Mesquite Texas, I'm east coast.  I think if you live in other areas shipping ends up being better to other centers.

All dead 360s are sent for repaired in Reynosa Mexico.

So are you saying that they ship your xbox to Mesquite Texas(that is where the ups tracking info always has as the delivery location on xbox360 repair orders) then trucks the consoles to Mexico, repaires them and then sends them back to texas(all return tracking starts in texas as well) to be shipped back to the owners... ok. doesn't sound correct but ok.

or are you phishing for peoples tracking numbers, I hope not.

there's no way that the people from MS XBOX could go around the repair charges.  You just hope that your console will catch a 3 red lights or an e74 error message.  They have extended warranties for those issues, 3 years from the original purchase date.

Ok so my console is now done being repaired.  When UPS picks up the package I will let you know where it is coming from.

Re: RETURN, REPAIR, and SHIPPING DISCUSSION (Thread 2)
So I tried using the online repair option as recently as a month ago for my faulty Xbox 360. Although I was able to log in and enter my information into the repair form, I did not (and still have not) received the required email concerning the repair.

So I tried calling 1-800-4MY-XBOX. After going through the routine automated messages (and being told three or four times to use the repair website), I finally got onto the line with a representative. I was told that a repair had been scheduled for my console two years prior, that the person on the line with me could not work around it, and that the previous repair order needed to be canceled by a boss. I was told that I would be called when they could process my repair.

Well, I just returned home on fall break and found a message on my answering machine from the service representatives telling me that they could not process my repair and to use the repair site.

I tried using the repair site again and have still not received any email. I'm confused and frustrated, to say the least.

My repair took 5 business days from drop off at UPS.  Granted I live in the Dallas area.  Replacement elite console due to E-74.  Interesting I noticed the sticker with the serial number now says reapaired or serviced cant remember what and the date of repair.  It no longer has a manufacture date.

How long does it take to get box form UPS?

I sent in about a week ago. I wanted to play Dragon Age and have it back by the time but that doesn't  look its going to happen.>< My most hyped game game since they talked about now I'm having to have to wait, because my PC can't run it and won't have PS3 till later next year.

I thought that now they require you to package the console yourself. I just had 3 red rings last night on my second console and am sending it out to the service center in Texas. I shipped mine back UPS Next Day Air on my dime in hopes to speed up the process. :)

UPDATE: From the repair status on Xbox.com I can see that they already sent it back today. The console has a different serial number.

Question:
1- I assume that different serial number means different console. Right?
2- Is it possible to determine the mobo version knowing just the serial?

UPDATE 2: I got another Zephyr.

Reading through the diff threads I'm a bit confused on the Zephyr, Jasper, etc. I suppose that is different models of hardware, but anyway...

Just got my 2nd RRoD. I had gotten my first 360 when they were released, went a few years without any problems.. Had my first red ring like 2 years ago.. Well today the 360 I got back from repairs has red ringed. Seen it coming, the other day I was playing Gh5 and it locked up on me video and audio, and the checkered screen showed up over my game. I figured doomsday was coming very soon.

Trying to get a repair going on but the site isnt letting me >.>

They just received my 360 a few minutes ago at 7pm. Are they pretty good about repairing it the next day and shipping it out that same day? It would be nice since tomorrow is Friday.

They work on weekends.  My ups shipping information was submitted by MS on a Sunday night, 2 days after they received it on a Friday iirc.

I have a similar situation. I shipped my 360 On October 20, at 3:38pm and I go to check the tracking on UPS.com and it states it was delivered in Mesquite, TX on October 22 and signed by SHP MANAGER. I log onto XBOX.com and the repair status says my 360 not only was recieved its in repair already? I don't know if I should be extremely happy or call customer service and ask some questions. I've heard of overnight shipping and all, but my UPS label was for ground shipping. It should have taken at least 3 or 4 days for the 360 to get to Texas, so I thought!

It seems liked they used to send out boxes to people but don't anymore. Now you can either print the shipping label yourself or have them send you one. I printed the label myself and used an old laptop box from Dell to send it back in. It doesn't matter what you use, as long as the xbox is secure. Just keep in mind, whatever box you send them you will not get back.

I was told via Microsoft E-mail Support that you can call the MS Phone Support, and have your shipping option changed to "Expedited Shipping", which means they will send you a pre-paid box in the mail, and all you have to do is pack up your Xbox, then drop it off at a UPS store, for free.

I have not called yet, but this is what I am planning on doing, because I do not have any packaging to ship my 360 in and do not want to pay ~$30 to have UPS pack it up when Microsoft offers the service for free.

If you call, they should be able to change your shipping option for free. At least, that's what E-mail Support told me.

If you have a UPS Store box up your 360, chances are they'll charge you for it, even though Microsoft has given you a pre-paid shipping label. I'm not 100% sure though. I have yet to send my 360 in, as I'm trying to get my shipping changed to where MS will send me a box, because they still offer it.

They'll want your serial number, your email address, your name, your phone number, your address.

Then they'll want you to repeat it about 50 more times over the course of a 30-40 minute call.
