Guys just reading through this thread is kind of like having my hand fed through a wood chipper. Yes GTA IV is delayed. But honestly its not the end of the world! Im in the same band wagon as most of you, I've got 2500 r.s just sitting here waiting for the release, and ive been hopping from one retailer to the next hoping to get some decent information about the release.

But honestly folks, you're blowing this entirely out of proportion, waiting 5-10 more days will not kill you. And just throwing all this negative criticism on Microsoft, on Express on India and the world is quite silly. Theres a shortage of stock - pure and simple . I doubt there's some big Express executive sitting in some big office somewhere laughing his *** off because we didn't get it on time. And blaming microsoft for a third party deal is slightly on the verge of stupidity. I think alot of the folks down at MS india are trying to get GTA IV in our hands and its unfair to criticise them so.

And honestly mate, threatening to switch consoles will not get GTA IV here any faster...

Yes you are right Shicko...its not the end of the world. And man i too have saved my Planet M vouchers for this one. But the delay is definitely disappointing.

All my friends in US/UK are too impressed with GTA IV and with Gamespot and other sites giving it the highest rating ever has increased the excitement.

I just got an HD-DVD drive for the xbox from US for just $50 and the clarity is amazing on my LCD. So maybe I will have to pass my time watching some movies.

confirmation would be given on 11th may..so yea.. chill..

Any Update on GTA IV release date?

As retailers we haven't received any updates till now..

hopefully on monday morning we get an update..

From what we've heard is that the game would release in India officially by 28th may or 1st june.

it's really funny how 'day one' release keeps getting rescheduled week after week, in our country. Even though Ms aren't the distributors i blame them entirely for this delay. Atleast they should have tried to ensure that some copies land on indian shores through official channels. Pathetic all-around imo.

I guess i'll just buy a pirated copy or through the black market now.

You yourself say that MS arent the publishers/distributers and then say they should have ensured that the game released on time ? Contradicting yourself there a little dont you think ?  MS cant do *** if the publishers dont release copies ..

From what i hear Take Two delayed it initially  and now some *** with the rating has dealyed it further . Blaming MS for everything is damn pathetic and cheap .  Every MS published game has released on time except for PGR4  for which i blame MS .

And people buying from the black market is exactly why publishers don't give us too much importance in case of huge worldwide demand .

Agree with you on that, if we had all titles releasing here in some way or the other officially, no one would have looked at the grey maket and definately with availabilty of latest products the demand and market size for the product grows..

even if 500 copies of a game are imported officially, its enough to pull back those who have already taken one step towards sourcing games from grey market..

There's nothing contradictary about my statement. As a matter of fact it is really obvious that Ms has some contact with the distributors. They should have (as anip pointed out) atleast tried to get in a few copies here, if not many.

As for the grey market issue, i think the publishers bring it upon themselves by releasing the game here really late. It's not that we're getting the game within a few days of release you know, and it's not as if i haven't waited for a week or two.

I wasnt threatening to switch consoles, as i have both, it'll just depend on which multiplatform games i choose to buy in the future. Some foresight and management could have ensured the promised release date of 29th  April, no excuses.  I really dont take MS india seriously anymore. Even as of today, there is no confirmation from any retailers regarding the e-express shipment.  Ive finished  gta 4 on the PS3 several days ago,  whilst the xbox360 version remains to be seen on shelves... MS India, this is a travesty.

soul caliber and civilisation revolution have not released here.. though these two games have made their way to the grey market and are available with us..

for now, we have the following games lined up for the month of august:-
1. Too human
2. Merceneries 2 : world in flames
3. wall- E
4. Tiger woods pga tour 09

if there is something more to this, we are yet to know that.

we have pre-orders for the above mentioned games on our forums..

and incase u require soul caliber lemme know.
