Re: Blazing Angels FAQ

General tips and questions/answers:

·         Taking pictures: line up your target and wait for both sliders to be green (like launching a torpedo).  When they are green, click and hold down the right thumstick.  You will notice a meter on the right side of the targeting area fill up.  When it is complete, your photo is done.

·         Tips for Ace rating on each mission:

·         Use your wingmen as little as possible.  Make sure they are in the grey/white “formation” so that they stick to you but don’t take out targets

·         If things get hairy, use Tom to taunt people so he takes fire and have Joe repair your plane.  Rinse and repeat

·         Look for targets of opportunity (things that don’t show up as your objective targets)

·         Time isn’t a big issue even though there is an “ace” time; the more targets you destroy, the less important this becomes

·         How can I beat the Berlin mission? (Col Hartman and Blast Furnace)

·        Stay low and use the meter to your right as your guide.  As long as you don’t go too high on the river part, you will not be hit.  Once you have taken out the third radar station, you will be able to gain altitude.  The fourth (and last) radar station is behind you towards the left.

·        Once the radar stations are out, you must survive for 3 minutes by yourself against many German fighters.  Use your speed to your advantage.  Head straight in any direction and wiggle a bit, you will hit the edge of the map and be turned around.  When you are turning, you are invulnerable, but you can fire off your guns and rockets.  Rinse and repeat until your squadron shows up.

How about finding the 3 camps? (DFC Pup)

The right most camp (as you look at the beach from the start point) is pretty much straight inland from the carrier. After that the next two are further inland, and closer the coast (the left most being the closest to the coast).

I got my ace by doing the first section in a quick time, then I kept going back to my saved checkpoint until I knew the angle to fly to find the next camp - so I could fly straight there, which saves a checkpoint once you've taken the photo. Repeat for all bases. At the end, if you can find the ocean just travel left up the coast as you hit it.

·        To get ace status, don’t allow your wingmen to engage (keep it white—in formation) and occasionally use Tom to take some fire for you and use your rockets for fast kills.

·        Colonel:

  • For me: 721 aircraft, 1100 ground, 91 ships
  • Letz Rock: 773 aircraft, 926 ground, 88 ships

Cheat codes:

  • God Mode: While playing campaign and pause the game Hold the left trigger then tap X, Y, Y, X and then release the left trigger and then hold the right trigger then tap Y, X, X, Y.. [thanks Col Hartman]
  • Increased damage by weapons :Enter cheat in Pause menu : hold LT and quickly press LB, LB, RB. Then hold RT and quickly press RB, RB, LB. [thanks JustPresident]

  • All campaign missions and planes :Enter cheat in Main menu : Hold LT + RT and press
X, LB, RB, Y, Y, RB, LB, X [thanks JustPresident]
